A.N: I just want to say that when Izuku sighns JSL it will not be underlined, Izuku will use ASL when he is exited or feeling a strong emotion or when speaking to Yamada.
Yamada sometimes noticed Izuku would show up with new scars on his body, not only was it worrying it was confusing, how could he randomly get a new scar unless... someone hurt him and then healed him.
Yamada told his husband about what was happening, they both agreed that he must be getting abused at home, the only problem was that they didn't know Izuku's last name so they couldn't find his information, one day during a meet up with Izuku Yamada had casually asked about his last name.
"Oh! Izuku i don't know your last name. Would you mind telling me?" He signed with a smile, he noticed how Izuku had froze before getting a contemplative look on his face, after a couple of seconds Izuku signed back looking down at the ground with an apologetic frown.
"I don't think i want to say, is that ok?" Yamada had quickly assured the boy it was fine and that he didn't need to tell him anything, before he knew it two months had passed, he had continued to meet with Izuku every day on the weekends.
The two mostly spent time at the cafe or library since Izuku liked it there, Yamada always noticed how Izuku would flinch whenever he raised his hand to ruffle his hair.
Today Yamada was meeting Izuku again, he had already eaten and made food for his husband and his son, he noticed it was time to leave so he kissed his husband goodbye and hugged his son who only groaned with a tiny smile.
Yamada walked to the beach wondering what he and Izuku could do today, when he got to the beach he frowned, Izuku was nowhere in sight, Izuku was always here before Yamada was, he calmed down the nerves he was feeling and sat on the bench deciding to wait for a little while.
After ten minutes of waiting he spotted the blonde boy who always seemed to be working out here running down the path, without thinking Yamada ran towards the kid "hey kid! Wait up a second" he shouted causing the blonde to huff and scowl at him.
"Have you seen a boy with long blond hair that goes into a green around here?" He asked concern evident in his tone, the blonde glared at him for a few seconds and Yamada thought the kid would just leave.. until the boys facial expression softened.
The boy sighed and shook his head "No, i thought it was weird since i didn't feel his eyes drilling into me. Usually he is here before me so i dunno where he is. Sorry" Yamada nodded his head feeling like this was a lost cause.
'Maybe i should drop by his house?' He wondered to himself, just as he began to turn the blonde spoke again "I know where he lives you know? The house only ever had three people going in or out, the cute boy, a man with brown hair, he is always angry when he is leaving the house.
He's always yelling too, seems like a prick if you ask me and one more guy, has black hair, doesn't get on with the brown haired guy, always complaining about having to "heal them" Dunno if that helps or whatever" Yamada stared at the kid with wide eyes.
This was all new information to him, he would definitely need to share this with his husband 'from what he said that means the kid probably doesn't live with his mom' Yamada thanked the blonde and started speed walking in the direction of Izuku's house.
He didn't want to invade the kids privacy but he just needed to make sure he was ok, what he didn't expect was for Arco to come flying towards him, she stopped to land on the wall next to him with a rolled up piece of paper clenched in her little claws.
Yamada furrowed his brows when the bird chirped fluttering her wings at him "I guess this is for me huh?" He muttered aloud, he reached out and carefully took the paper from the bird, he opened it and read the note word for word.
"Hello Yamada-san, I'm sorry but I won't make it today. I'm needed at home for a while but i promise i will see you next week, Please send Arco back once you have my note, i will look forward to seeing you again soon. Izuku"
He sighed and ran his hand down his face (something he picked up from his husband) he wanted to feel relieved that the kid was fine but he couldn't get rid of the sinking feeling in his gut.
This was the first time Izuku had ever cancelled one of their meet ups, not to mention Arco never left Izuku's side, as much as Yamada wanted to rush to Izuku's home and make sure he was fine he stopped himself.
It could break the trust he was building with the boy, and if he was right about his parents or father abusing him then Yamada going to the house would only hurt the little listener more.
He bit his lip in frustration but reminded himself that Izuku was clearly well enough to send him a note so he couldn't be too hurt right? He turned to Arco and gave her a pet "Go back to Izuku now, ill see you soon ok?"
He knew the bird didn't understand but he still wanted to speak to her. Arco flew off and Yamada frowned turning back in the direction of his home 'I'm sure he is ok, but if i see a new scar next week I'm asking Izuku for the truth.
At the very least I'll tell him he can always come to me for help, ill tell him where i live so that i know he will be safe if he's ever in trouble' Yamada nodded his head in determination and continued his walk home.
When Yamada walked into his home silently instead of with a cheery smile his family immediately knew something had upset him, especially since he was home only forty minutes after leaving, Yamada had slumped onto his couch and sighed with a sad expression as tears stung his eyes.
Aizawa quickly rushed over to his husband pulling him into a hug "What's wrong Zash? What happened?" He asked while running his fingers through the long yellow hair, Yamada calmed himself down taking deep breaths of his husbands scent.
He soon relaxed into Aizawa's warm embrace laying his cheek on his chest "Izuku didn't come to meet me, his bird bought me a letter but i can't get rid of this nagging feeling that something is wrong" he said sadly.
Aizawa took in the information before pulling his husbands face up to look into his eyes "We're getting Tsukauchi's help, we will tell him everything about the kid and hopefully we can find his records.
Next time you meet the kid you can ask what happened today, if you have even an ounce of worry for his safety we will act immediately ok?" Aizawa stated confidently, Yamada sighed and nodded his head, he knew he was probably reading into things because of how attached he was to the child.
He just wanted to be sure the boy was ok no matter what, he smiled and pecked his husband earning a rare smile from the insomniac, since both men were too focused on their conversation neither of them noticed their son listening to them with a frown.
Hitoshi had been hearing about the boy his papa seemed to love for almost two months now, every time his papa had come home from meeting the boy he had a big smile on his face.
At first Hitoshi thought his papa was just exited to be someone's favourite hero, he thought the weekly meetings would come to an end soon and his papa would go back to fussing over him, when his papa still went out on the weekends to meet the boy Hitoshi began to resent the unknown boy named Izuku.
How could some random kid take so much of his papa's attention from him? Hitoshi had only lived with his new parents for two years but he loved them more than anything, they showed him what real love was like.
They never hurt him or punished him for asking questions like his other parents did, he hated Izuku for stealing away his papa, he hated Izuku for having fun with his papa while Hitoshi stayed home to study...
But soon he started hearing his parents speaking in "private" he heard how worried they were that the boy was getting abused, he heard about how Izuku had faded scars on his wrists 'Just like me' Hitoshi had thought to himself.
After hearing his parents talk about the boy his anger faded, it was replaced with something else, he didn't know what it was but he wanted to help the boy, the boy that might understand Hitoshi better than anyone else could.
Because they were the same, they both had horrible parents, they both hurt themselves, they both deserved real love 'i hope dad and papa can help him' Hitoshi thought gently running his fingers over the faded white lines on his thighs.
