6 months later...
It's roughly been six months since the time when it all ended. Just like what Amelia claimed, things will return to what it's supposed to be. Both sides... free from each other's shackles.
Which is why my current life is going smoother than ever. I managed to focus on my career and have enough time for myself.
' It took a while, but I'm glad I managed to finish my errand before lunchtime. That girl will go ballistic if you don't fill her stomach on time...'
Carrying two huge grocery bags in both my hands, I swiftly make my way back to my apartment while thinking of what food to cook using the ingredients I bought.
' I wonder if I should try making her western food... Steak?'
???: " Who knew a popular filth like you who most likely would stay in his room all day would run his groceries. Too shy to hire a maid?" A child-looking brat stands in front of me, blocking my path. She crosses her arms while having a huge smug on her face.
' Again...? These girls just won't leave me alone...'
" Hello, child. You lost your mom and need my help? Sure, I can help you out." I respond to the brat in the most boring way possible. I try to walk past her, but she just cuts me off by standing in my way.
???: " Cut it out, you damn human!" She stomps the floor, clearly already looking irritated. " I'm not letting you get past me today! You're going to give me answers!"
She looks up to glare at my eyes intently. Meanwhile, I just act like I don't have the slightest care in the world while staring back at her.
" Laplus-chan..."
Laplus: " It's Laplus-sama, you mortal!" She punches me in my stomach. Though it barely hurt at all.
" How about you help me carry these groceries home and talk along the way?" I hand her the other bag I'm carrying.
Laplus: " Why do I have to help you carry your damn groceries?!"
" Okay, I'll be on my way then." I lightly push her out of the way. Even though she tried to resist, her being so weightless didn't pose an issue to me at all.
Laplus: " No, please! I'm sorryyyy!! Don't leave, I'll help you carry the bag!!"
Before I could even walk away, she clings herself to my waist, her large horns grazing my face since she's squirming around like a bug. I can't help but sigh while I look up at the sky.
" Here. Take it." I hand her the grocery bag yet again.
She slowly gets off my waists while pouting. She then quickly snatches off the bag I'm handing out to her before clicking her tongue.
Laplus: " Ugh... H-How do you carry these things. S-So heavy..." She carries the bag with both her hands, clearly struggling to carry it.
" So... What brings you here today for the third time this month, Laplus-sama."
I began to start walking again, Laplus just follows behind me, wobbling on her feet while carrying the bag.
Laplus: " Koyori has reported to me that all the evidence and video footage she had on her drones during the assassination day were all wiped out! Not only that, but the contract the mysterious client signed up for just disappeared out of nowhere! We keep all our files secured and hidden, you know?!"
