You fell to the bottom of the tunnel, landing on a watery substance, which was just sewer water. You and the others were in a sewer.
"Jesus, it smells in here" You said, covering your nose
"Yeah, must be all the rotting Corrupted Protogens" Sammy said
"What's a Corrupted Protogen?" You asked
"A zombie Protogen, basically" Don responded
"Yeah, what he said. This sewer should lead us to a nearby town" Sammy said
"Know anyone who lives there?" You asked
"Someone who can get us to the mountains" Sammy responded
"Why do we need to go to the mountains again?" Sky asked
"There's a big outpost there, one that keeps Protogens safe, far from M.A.D" Sammy responded
"And this guy knows how to get there?" You asked
"We know the outpost is in the mountains but don't know which part. Our guy does" Don responded
"Sounds good" You said
You and the others walked down the sewer maze, coming cross various markings on the walls and multiple roots growing as well. As you went deeper, you came across a problem, an intersection. You could either go left, right or forward, but didn't know which one lead to the exit
"Which way?" You asked the others
"Left is my lucky way, lets go there" Don said, walking left.
As you followed, you came across more markings and roots, eventually, a sleeping bag
"Did people live here?" You ask
"I don't know, probably hobos" Sammy responded
"But hobos don't write markings on the walls or live in a jungle! Someone else must live here" You said, pondering to yourself
"Well whatever it is, I don't plan on fighting a sewer monster" Don said
"Then we should hurry" You suggested
"I don't like liminal space" Sky said randomly
After walking for some time, you finally come across a tunnel with a bright light at the end of it. You all rush to the tunnel, seeing at the end was sunlight. Finally, you make it out of the sewer and back out into the desert, but near you is a small town.
As you and your team go closer to the town, you can see the town is more, older, like if it were from the 1900's. The people there you see are more modern, from our modern day era, but stuck with old tech. You walk to a small gun shop, walking in through the red double doors and walking over to a glass counter, showing the assortment of guns and knives.
You look at the wall to see multiple types of guns placed in an orderly fashion, ranging from small pistols to full on rocket launchers.
"Hello, we're looking for Mike. Is he here?" Don says to the man behind the counter
"I believe so, one moment" The man replies before walking to the back. A man then walks out with him, revealing to be a man with white hair, a red bandana, brown jacket with leather pants and boots
"Hey there, you called?" The man said, looking at your team
"Mike, it's us. Sammy and Don?" Sammy says to Mike, remembering him
"Oh yeah! How could I forget? My two best buds with, two randos who I don't know. Who are these people?" Mike asks, talking about you and Sky
"Oh yeah, Mike, this is Y/N and Sky"
