Ten: Safest Place To Hide

Julia never went home causing Charlie to panic. He stopped his car as he saw Calvin and got out. "Calvin." He says causing him along with Jasper and Emmett to look at him. "Please tell me that you have seen Julia."

"Not since school ended." He tells Charlie. "She said she was going to head straight home."

"Well, Bella met up with me at the diner since Julia has nothing to do with her sister, but when I got the call from Bella that Julia was never home, I knew something happened."

"I'll go search for her." Calvin says looking at Jasper and Emmett. "Will you two help me?"

"Of course." Emmett says. "Let's find our little sis."

Charlie smiled as he watched three of the Cullen boys get in the car and drove off. He pulled his phone out and called Julia again. "You've reached Julia, please leave a message."

After the beep, Charlie inhaled. "Julia Swan, I don't know why you are missing, but I'm worried. Please call me." He hung up. "Where are you?"

Julia sat by herself at a lake. She never heard her phone ringing as she just wanted to be in her favorite spot. A place where she could be alone. Hearing a vehicle, Julia knew. "Where the hell have you been?" Calvin asks as he got out. "Do you have any idea how worried I was? How worried your father was?"

"Sorry."

"Sorry?" Calvin shook his head. "You're sorry for scaring the hell out of us."

"I didn't want to go home." She tells him. "I don't want to bond with Bella. At all."

"I understand, baby, but you shouldn't be leaving and scaring the living hell out of those that care for you. Hell, Bella called Charlie when she didn't see you home and thought the worst."

Julia looked up. "What?"

"Yeah. Charlie said that Bella called saying you never made it home." Calvin says sitting down beside her. "In my mind, I thought...no, I knew something bad happened and I had to find you before it was too late." Julia let a tear drop. "I love you, Julia, but you have me that cares for you just like your dad."

"I'm so sorry for scaring everyone." She tells him. "It's just...everyone expects me to talk to Bella. Give her a chance, but I just can't." Julia looked at him. "She never once called me either and yet, everything is supposed to be okay to her. Like I would suddenly talk to her." Calvin wiped her tears. "I can't just up and talk to her thinking everything is okay. I will take my time and whenever I want to talk to her, I will."

Calvin nodded. "I'm always here for you to run too."

Julia smiled. "That's because you are my safest place to hide." She says. "I may not be coming up for a week."

"Yeah."

Julia arrived home just for Charlie to run to her. As she got out he pulled her into a hug as Bella watched from a distance not to upset her sister. "Don't you ever scare me like that." He says.

"I'm sorry."

Charlie sighed. "You know..."

"I'm grounded, but I'm okay with that."

"Do you want to talk about?" Charlie asked as Julia nodded. "Come on. I already know."

"I will talk to Bella when I want to, but I'm not going to just think everything is okay." She tells him. "She wasn't part of my life and thinks it's okay to suddenly show up thinking I should love having her here, but I can't."

"I know, Julia and I know it's going to take some time." Charlie says. "That's why I'm not forcing you. You've been through enough wondering if your mother was ever going to call." Julia nodded as she started crying. 'Come here, princess."

Bella watched Julia and Charlie hug causing her to smile. She won't rush her sister. She's going to talk to her a bit and if she notices Julia needs space then she will leave her alone. One step at a time.
