Maybe we can fix each other

Chapter eleven | not now

Penelope found it so difficult to not let Colin mess with her emotions but it's been happening so much recently. She couldn't handle it. She needed to talk to someone. Kate and Eloise were extremely close and that's how Kate and Penelope became extremely close. So the three agreed to meet up to talk.

"My feelings have been all over the place recently," Penelope says when Eloise had asked how she was.

"Why?" Kate asks.

"I don't know, it's like one minute I'm mad at myself and the next I feel like I deserve better then the last year of my life. It's just been all over the place. I've been going up and down like constantly," Penelope replied

The worry on Kate's face was very clear. Penelope didn't know what she was thinking about but Penelope didn't get to ask before Kate asked, "Have you been feeling any kind of sickness in the last few weeks?"

"Yeah, a little, why?" Penelope asks.

Kate was very surprised that Penelope hadn't picked up on what she was trying to say.

"Penelope when's the last time you had your period?" Kate asked.

Then it dawned on her. Oh shit.

"I'm late. Shit," Penelope said.

"Do you really think it's possible?" Eloise asks Kate.

"It's very possible. She has symptoms," Kate replied.

"It can't be! No, fuck! Oh my gosh, I'm such a fucking idiot," Penelope replied.

"No you're not," Kate says, "and it doesn't mean you are. It's just a possibility. There's a lot of times where it's just speculation."

"But it lines up perfectly," Penelope says, "I don't know what to do."

Kate and Eloise try their best to comfort her as Penelope thinks.

"We only had sex once," Penelope groans

"Did you use protection?" Eloise asks

"Yes!" Penelope replied, "we're not that stupid."

"It doesn't always work though," Kate replied "do we need to go get a pregnancy test?"

"Yeah," Penelope said.

The three were waiting in Penelope's bathroom, on the floor, for the timer to go off.

When it did all three looked at each other and Eloise stopped the timer.

"I can't look," Penelope said.

"Do you want me to look for you?" Kate asks.

"Yeah, please Kate," Penelope replied.

Kate stood up and looked at the test. Only a few seconds later is when she looked at Penelope with sadness in her eyes.

"No," Penelope softly said as tears started to build in her eyes, "it can't be. Not now, no."

"Penelope, I'm so sorry," Kate whispers.

"I can't be pregnant. This is the worse possible time to be pregnant. I just broke up with Colin and I'm on a fucking show playing the main character. This is the worse time to be pregnant," Penelope said as tears started to stream down her face.

"Penelope, let's have you take a few more. Sometimes they can be wrong," Kate says

But every single test they did, all came out positive. And on the sixth one Penelope gave in. She was pregnant.

She couldn't hold herself back from crying. Kate and Eloise hugged her as the tears continued to fall down her face.

"Why," Penelope says between sobs.

"Hey, it'll be okay," Eloise says calmly, rubbing Penelope's arm.

"Will it though?" Penelope asks.

"Well you should talk to Colin. But what do you want to do with the baby?" Kate asks.

Penelope had been thinking about that since she saw the tests. And she honestly had to think about it for longer then she should've.

"Fuck," Penelope cries, "I want to keep it. It's gonna affect my life so much and probably Colin's too but I really want to keep it."

"Penelope if you want to keep it you should, it's your baby after all," Eloise replied.

"I need to talk to Colin," Penelope said, "he needs to know and I want him to be able to be apart of the conversation. It's his child too."

They both nodded, agreeing with her, "I'll talk to him later, I'll go over to his apartment. I have to tell him in person."
