I had laid on my bed for about an hour before finally giving in to sleep. When I woke up again, the sun had set and the sky was a deep purple. The house was quiet so I figured Two was at the Curtis'. I got up and went into the bathroom to take a shower.

I closed my eyes and let the water run down my back. Today would have been amazing if Two-Bit hadn't gotten mad at me and ruined it. I smiled as I thought about kissing Soda in the lake, his hands on my waist and mine tangled in his hair. We still haven't gotten a chance to talk about it so we didn't have labels on anything yet. Obviously, I wanted us to be together but I didn't know if he felt the same way. I had initiated all of the kisses and most of the time, I was the one who started things.

I started to feel bad. I had been the one who suggested we go do something. I was the reason we were both in trouble for disappearing.

I got out of the shower and changed into some sweatpants and a T-Shirt, throwing Soda's flannel on over it. I grabbed To Kill A Mockingbird off of my desk and sat down on my bed, picking up where I left off.

I had read through 3 chapters when I heard tapping coming from my window. I put my bookmark in my book and placed it down on my nightstand. I walked over to my window and saw Sodapop standing outside. I opened my window and gave him my hand to help him inside.

"What are you doing here? Two'll kill ya if he knows you're here." I was happy to see him but I knew it wouldn't end well for either of us if Two-But found out.

"Don't worry. He's at my house. They won't let him come home because he's wasted. I just had to see you." He ran his hand through his hair as he talked and his eyes were darting around my room, occasionally landing on mine then glancing away. I bit my lip.

"How mad is Darry?" I asked, looking up at him. His eyes finally met mine and stayed on them. He took his thumb and used it to pull my lip out from between my teeth, keeping his hand on my cheek.

"He was pretty mad earlier, yelled at me for runnin' off and stuff but he let it go. He doesn't know I'm here though. Asked me to stay away until Two-Bit calmed down."

"I guess you gotta stay away forever then, Two's pissed. We haven't even talked since we got home."

"He'll get over it. I mean, he's obviously got some anger issues but he doesn't hold grudges." He dropped his hand from my face and I found myself frowning from the lack of contact.

"I hope. I mean, I'm still mad at him but he's my brother. I can't hate him forever." Soda nodded his head in understanding. I moved closer to him and laid my head on his chest. He wrapped his arms around me and laid his head on top of mine. He planted a small kiss on the top of my head.

"I'm sorry." I mumbled into his chest. He loosened his grip on me and lifted my chin up to look at him.

"What for?" I felt tears starting to form in my eyes and tried to blink them away.

"It's my fault. If I hadn't asked to go somewhere, neither of us would be in trouble." Soda used his thumb to wipe away the tears that ended up falling anyways.

"Hey, it's not your fault. I was the one who took you there, don't blame yourself Ki." I nodded and looked down at the floor. He lifted my chin again and planted a soft kiss on my lips. I kept my eyes closed when he pulled away.

"I'll talk to Two tomorrow ok? Explain what happened and make sure he knows not to be mad at you. Just... cut him some slack ok. He's mad because he wants to keep you safe. He doesn't really know how to deal with this kind of stuff but just know that he is trying alright?" I opened my eyes and looked into his blue ones.

"Yeah...ok." He brushed my hair behind my ear before leaving a light kiss on my forehead and heading back over to the window. He turned back and smiled at me, which I returned before he swung his legs out the window and closed it behind him.

I decided to take advantage of having the house all to myself. I went to the kitchen and quickly made myself a quesadilla. I might not be a great cook but I can make simple things, like quesadillas and rice. I put my quesadilla on a plate and went to sit on the couch.

I flipped the channel to Mickey and ate my quesadilla. After the third episode, I decided I should do something else. There wasn't much I could do since it was currently 11 o'clock at night but I decided that it was the perfect time for a dance party. I grabbed some records off of the shelf in the living room and put in a Beatles one. I turned the volume up and jumped on the couch, using an empty soda bottle as a microphone.

"Here comes the sun, do do do do. Here comes the sun, and I say, it's alright..." I sung at the top of my lungs, not caring if I woke up the neighbors. I started to jump between the couch and the armchairs that we had, pretending the floor was made of lava and I couldn't step on it while singing.

The song ended and I flopped on the couch. Listening to the next song that was playing.

"Because the world is round, it turns me on. Because the world is round." I hummed along to the tune while tapping my fingers on the couch.

Once the record finished the last song, I put it back on the shelf. I cleaned up the mess I had made before heading back to my room to go to sleep.
