chapter 8

i realized im slowly running out of dnf fanarts and i have posted too many pics to remember if i did this one or not so i might start posting some mcyt fanarts instead of just dnf :P

Philza pov

I smiled as I pushed us forward with the stick, I wouldn't have to do this soon, the soft current would pick up and push us forward. 

I looked back to check on Tommy and George, my smile widening when I saw George curled up in Tommy's arms, both sleeping peacefully. 

I looked at Techno and saw him laying on the other platform, reading a book. He looked up to meet my eye and I smiled a little, gesturing at the two and he looked over, a small smile placing itself on his lips, which was pretty rare, guess he really liked the two. 

I knew they were family to each other since Techno found the two shivering together on the streets in the middle of winter when they were young and basically raised them up.

I turned back to the stream and set down the stick, laying down onto my back and staring at the shimmering stars, thinking about what we would do afterwards, Dream said he was sending bounty hunters to kill us and bring back George so we would have to teach him to protect himself.

I don't know if George knows but the myths about the Moon clan owning magic is true, they can harness the power of nature and other things, making hem the most powerful being on Earth. 

But the one thing about them is that only black cats could wield these powers and I wonder if George could too. 

I furrowed my brows in concern when I remembered a conversation I had had with the chief of the clan. I was talking to them about George and the chief mentioned a puppy had snuck into their village and snatched a newborn black kitten from the hatchling hut and never seen again. 

They had mourned over the loss of their new hatchling and always looked out for when he comes back if he isn't dead. 

And I was thinking about the story they told me and they said the kitten was supposed to be very powerful and its a tragedy that they were lost. 

I sighed and decided to take a small nap before we get to the clan's secret village burrowed deep underground. 

time skip to a few hours later...

George pov

I shifted as I woke up, yawning and stretching while snuggling closer to the source of warmth beside me. I opened my eyes and saw the dawning sky above me and rolled around to face Tommy, he was still sleeping and he had a small trail of drool running down his mouth. 

I smiled and sat up slowly, pushing his arm off of me gently and rubbing my eyes. I slid the blankets of me and set them on Tommy so he wouldn't be cold. 

I saw Techno on the other platform, half sitting on a bunch of pillows, asleep. Phil was already up, sitting by the edge of the front of the boat and humming something. 

We seemed to have stopped moving and was parked to the side of the river, and the boat was bobbing up and down gently to the currents.

I yawned again as I stood up slowly and walked over to where Phil was sitting and he turned around to greet me. 

'Hey George.' He smiled and I nodded, waving at him and sitting down beside him, yawning again. 

'You hungry?' He asked and I shrugged, I'm not hungry yet but I will be in a little bit. 

'Don't worry, when the others wake up we can go eat breakfast.' He said and I raised my brow at him.

'Where? We're literally in the middle of nowhere.' I chuckled and Phil raised his brow at me a mischievous glint in his eyes. I looked around and didn't see any sort of building, it looks like nobody's even been here, ever. 

I jumped when I felt someone wrap their arms around me and I looked up to see Tommy's smirking face.

'Oh fuck off.' I laughed and his smirk widened, reaching up to boop my nose. 

'Made you jump.' He chuckled and I rolled my eyes at him playfully. I sighed and leaned back into him, making him giggle and hug me closer to him. 

'When are we leaving for the village?' Tommy said while sitting down beside me and draping his arm around my shoulder. 

'When Techno wakes up, and don't you dare go wake him up.' Phil wheezed and I smiled, Tommy whining at him. 

'Awwww, but I want to show George the village! It's so cool.' He whined and I chuckled, leaning into Tommy. 

'Ugh, fine, you can go and I'll wait for Techno here, be careful!' Phil sighed and Tommy cheered, grabbing my hand and pulling me up, making me giggle. 

I waved bye to Phil as we hopped off the boat, following Tommy away and into the trees. We walked for a little while and Tommy stopped beside a big tree. 

I looked at him curiously as he knocked on the wood with a sequence of patterned knocks and waited for a while. My eyes widened when a door hissed open in the trunk of the tree and Tommy looked at me smugly. 

'Come on!' He said while grabbing my hand and stepping inside the door, pulling me in and the door closed quietly shortly afterwards. 

'Hold on.' He said and walked over to an opening that kind of looked like a slide. The inside of the tree was illuminated by fireflies inside jars covered with a few leaves and flowers, light8ing the rom dimly. 

'We can slide down here.' Tommy said and I smiled, sitting on the other opening beside his, and he smirked at me. 

'Ready? 3, 2, 1, GO!' He shouted and launched himself down the tube, me following shortly after. 

I was immediately plunged into darkness and I heard Tommy's echoing whoops and my eyes widened when the darkness disappeared, replaced with brightness. I landed with an oof on top of Tommy and we both laughed, I rolled off of him and stood up, dusting off myself. 

'Woah...' I said in awe when I looked up, we seemed to be underground and it was huge. Black cats of various ages walked around drawbridges connecting platforms containing pools, houses, stores and various other things. 

The cave was well lit with various clear streams running down the walls and forming a pool at the bottom, letting a few cats gather water. 

'Yeah.' Tommy breathed, I looked away from the mesmerizing cave and lights reluctantly and met his eyes.

'Come on, I'll show you to my room.' Tommy smiled and took ahold of my hand.
