[AU] The Hardest Part Was Telling Her

* Another bizarre and unique storyline pitched in by Ate Soph (endless thank you ate!). Inspired by the Filipino movie, '100 Tula Para Kay Stella'. Reference was how BBM stutters when asked a spontaneous question (lol I'm crying in laughter). Enjoy!

Someone was looking directly at Leni from the opposite side of the faculty room. He was only making fleeting looks in her direction in a vain attempt of attracting both her gaze and attention. A simple "hello" would make his heart leap with excitement, yet it looked like even that would be difficult for him to do alone. He had been making passes behind the curtains for the past three years and now that they only have a year remaining, he knew he had to sit up and be confident. But he thought...why would a high-achieving student like her even consider looking into the eyes of a creep like him?

He is literally not torpe. Not until the heavens gave him a reason to be one.

At the age of 12, Bongbong Marcos received the diagnosis that he had a childhood-onset fluency problem. It is a speech impairment that causes considerable and frequent disruptions to the normal fluency and flow of speech. People who stammer are able to formulate their thoughts, but they have trouble expressing them verbally. Young children frequently experience stuttering as a natural and expected part of the process of learning to talk, and most eventually grow out of it. However, in his particular circumstance, it progressed into a chronic illness that continues into adulthood, exactly as he is now experiencing its effects.

He had been making payments toward something that he had no intention of ever purchasing for himself. Because of bullies, random strangers on the street who heard him talk, and even members of his extended family, he was unable to break free from the chains and barriers that discrimination and negative language had erected around him. Even if his family may not say anything about it, he has the impression that they are somewhat uncomfortable about having him as the only son who is meant to soon take over for his father, who is working toward a career in politics. Growing up was challenging, and it is likely that he will continue to struggle with lifelong insecurities for the rest of his life.

When the school bell rang, Bongbong was the first one to dash out of the room and chase after Leni until they were both safely outside. As he got closer to her, it appeared as though his lungs and heart were unable to maintain a regular heartbeat. However, everything came to a halt when someone pushed his shoulder very forcefully, causing him to fall to the ground and taking the person in front of him with him...which was Leni

He is on top of her. Which is pretty alarming.

"S-sorry!" halos walang boses ang lumabas sa bibig ni Bongbong dahil sa kahihiyan habang agad-agad itong tumayo upang hindi bigyang malisya ng lubusan ni Leni kung ano mang intensyon ang kanyang iniisip. "A-ayos ka l-lang ba?"

"Kinabahan ka?" she laughed. Nakapikit lamang ang mga mata ni Leni nang pilit na itinatayo ang sarili. Inalayan naman nito ng Bongbong ng kanyang kamay habang nakayuko pa rin ang ulo niya at pilit na iniiwasang magtagpo ang mga mata nito. "It's fine. Gago naman talaga yun si Isko. Napakayabang."

Bongbong experienced a flood of emotions as a direct result of hearing her laugh. Because he was so intrigued by the way her chortle sounded, he makes it a point to listen to it each and every time he has the opportunity to do so. While Leni was conducting a self-examination, Bongbong politely assisted her in keeping the dirt off of her clothing. Because she was concerned about him as well, she performed the same thing, which resulted in his mouth falling open. She was that cool.
