Bongbong's legs are crossed and so are Leni's arms as they dart each other with malicious and notorious gazes.

"You are not authorized-"

"I covet the place, Leni."

"Ilang beses na naming binalik-balikan ang lugar na iyon at never kaming dumaan sa ganitong proseso. Nagpapasikat ka ba?" she arched one brow and huffed. "You're not even governor to begin with."

"That's because I wasn't here to be tapped about your underground whereabouts..." Bongbong scoffed at her.

She almost slammed the table, "Exactly! Wala ka dito so bakit ngayon ka pa papapel? We're just going to deliver donations to them, ano bang kinakatakot mo? Na baka makuha ko ang loob ng mga nasasakupan mo dito sa Norte?"

He faked a chortle, "You're getting ahead of yourself, Robredo."

"Then tell me the exact reason why would you not let us go, Marcos. Everything we're doing is purely legal and here you are, acting like we're not," she dared him.

Because she was correct, he was at a loss for words. Bongbong just got back to the Philippines from New York, where he had been staying illegally for some time in order to be with his sons and his wife while they were based there for all of their job and school. Napaharurot siya ng uwi nang malamang lagian na pala ang nagiging dalaw ng Angat Buhay sa laylayan ng Norte. It was his only powerhouse, and he was terrified that losing it to her would derail his plans for the future. As a result, he decided to step aside and head home to finish collecting the donations that were designated for the rural schools in Ilocos.

He sighed in surrender, "Fine. I'll let you pass...but on one condition."

Leni hid her amusement yet she kept an open mind, "Ano?"

He clasped both of his hands as he leaned to her, maintaining a decent distance, "Sasama ako."

She paused for a moment, giving herself permission to reflect on his offer, and began to think about it in the background of her mind as she did so. If she agrees to let him tag along, the deed would undoubtedly be to his advantage because it would be reported on by national and local news outlets, enhancing the positive and charitable reputation that others have of him. She knew that knowing she was working with him would be a significant blow to her, but she also realized that she could not simply disregard and undermine the entire process of delivering the cargo. Leni's reputation among people is already poor, despite the fact that she never strays from doing what is ethically acceptable; there is no reason for her to make matters worse now. Baka mabawasan pa ang pagtitiwala ng mga principal donators sa kanya kung hindi niya ito maitatawid ng maayos.

She breathed out and stood from the interrogation chair, "Okay. Deal."

Just this once, Leni. Endure it just this once.

The vice president stormed out of the post and got back inside their vehicle before giving a thumbs-up sign, indicating that they should continue on with their voyage. With the assistance of the people and Bongbong's assent, the barricades began to move in the opposite direction. When the doors of the van opened once more, the previous senator's face was the first thing that the passengers saw. They had been under the impression that they were ready to resume their flight toward the road. Her eyebrows and emotions reveal that she was perplexed, but he carried on as if nothing was happening.
