"I saw a video of from Tiktok kagabi. They've grown really close, ano?"

"Malamang sa malamang, magkasangga sila 'e. They are literally the vice and the president from the same party, at that. Ikaw lang naman 'tong naglalagay ng issue."

Halos hindi mapakali si Leni sa pinag-usapan ng dalawang katrabaho niya sa Angat Buhay sa loob ng pampublikong banyo. They had no idea that the former vice president was simply going to the bathroom behind them as she listened in on the chat and unconsciously took in whatever it was that was being discussed. As soon as she heard the dwindling tictacs of their sneakers, saka pa lamang siya lumabas ng cubicle at tinignan ang sarili sa salamin. She heaved a sigh of discomfort, washed her hands in an extremely short time, and then exited that space. 

She grabbed her bag from the table and hurriedly left the building bidding her goodbyes to the people who remained. Not really over that horrible eavesdropping of hers, ngunit nakapag-paalam na siyang mauuna muna siyang umuwi sa kanila dahil may aaasikasuhin pa itong mas importante na related pa rin sa foundation. When Leni looked around, she saw a vehicle that she had seen before parked not too far away from where she was standing. When the door abruptly opened from behind her, she saw a familiar face standing there, and her eyes widened as she made the decision to head in that direction.

You must be kidding me. Her insides whispered as an upward curve formed in her lips at the sight of him.

"Going somewhere?" he coolly asked her, leaning one arm towards the other seat.

She galloped happily toward him and leaned her abdomen inside the car to give him a swift kiss, "Home, love. Home."

"Gusto mo bang sumabay na lang?" Bongbong offered her.

"Is that a joke?" Leni chortled over his silly words.

Yet looks like he wasn't joking with his reply, "Pauwi na rin ako."

Her brows furrowed as she sat beside him and closed the car doors, "Ng ganito ka-aga? May clone ka ba sa palasyo at nakakauwi ka ng naayon sa gusto mo, Marcos?"

"Can't I miss you?" he intertwined her fingers in his and stared at their effortless connection lovingly.

Suddenly, a memory of earlier flashed back on her mind. Ang ending, siya lang din ang nakasagot sa tanong na sasagutan sana ng kasintahan. She couldn't help but start assuming things, thus with the sudden flip of emotions.

"Sara must be helping you a lot," patay-malisya nitong saad.

Whilst the president assumed that Leni was just opening up a casual conversation, he insensitively answered the passage to his own accord, "You have no idea."

Her brows raised simultaneously and tried to smile fakely in agreement and gladness, "Must be nice."

"Kung close na kami nung eleksyon, mas naging close pa kami nang maluklok kaming dalawa sa posisyon. She is literally the woman who'd make a perfect tandem with me. Guess I'm never wrong," pagpapatuloy pa nito.
