"Mag-isa ka yata?"

It seemed as though Bongbong's voice appeared out of nowhere to Leni. Sa pag-aakalang guni-guni niya lang iyon ay hindi siya lumingon, but because it seemed to her to be too genuine to be an illusion, she spun her body in a circle and double-checked her supposition. It would appear that she was incorrect in her assessment, as he was in fact present and standing not too far away from where she was.

"Bakit ka andito?" she let out an unexpected chortle, bedazzled by his presence for tonight. "You told us that you can't go, right?"

"Surprise," he said in all seriousness but ended up laughing anyway. "De, my plans got canceled late."

"You could've stayed home," Leni mumbled as she turned back at him, further admiring the moonlight.

"You know that parties are like my lifeline," Bongbong felt that it was now respectful to stand beside her thus he walked a few steps just to match her shoulders.

Leni jeered and sheepishly smiled, "Ah, I forgot about that for a moment."

"You didn't answer my question yet," he reminded her.

"Oo nga pala," she chuckled over her silly amnesia. "Well, the moon is too beautiful for it to not have an audience."

"So it's the moon versus Risa and friends now, 'eh?" he joked. "There's still a lot of rotations to come, Leni."

"Hindi ko din alam..." she shrugged his negative mantra and kept her eyes glued on the light. "Parang mas maganda talaga yung buwan ngayon."

"Mas maganda ka," Bongbong said a little bit too loud.

It successfully made Leni's brows furrow, "Try again."

"Ah, so you want more of those?" nakakaloko nitong ngiti sa kanya.

She rolled her eyes and chortled viciously, "Ewan ko sa'yo, Marcos."

In most situations, this would serve as a signal to the other person to be left alone, but Bongbong didn't want to separate himself from her just yet. Iniwas muna nito ang mga mata sa mukha nito at tumingala rin sa langit, pilit na tinitignan ang kung ano mang ibig sabihin ng napakaespesyal na kalangitang iyon. They just stood there in peace and silence, looking up at the night sky and pondering whether or not there was any significance or solace to be found there.

"Can I say something boring?" he mumbled, trying to slowly break the ice of silence between them.

"Hindi naman boring mga sinasabi mo," she threw in a compliment and it never, not once, failed to make butterflies flutter inside Bongbong's heart. It caused a little bit of commotion on his part yet he stood his ground, trying not to get distracted.

"You and your words again..." it's time for Bongbong to roll his eyes.

"Ano?" she knew what she was doing. She knew what kind of torture it was to him and for the record, she was enjoying how the senator vaguely reacts without even successfully suppressing his redness.

"Ikaw kase," he frowned.

Leni stopped laughing and grabbed her composure back, "Sige na, sabihin mo na. Sorry sorry, take two."
