▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️The first week back at North Valley seemed to fly by and before anyone knew it, Friday had rolled around.
"...Final rosters for all spring sports will be posted on the gym bulletin board at lunch and all team members will have a short mandatory meeting on their respective fields after school. The Drama club is looking for..."
As the morning announcements continued in homeroom, Frankie leaned over a little to whisper to Spencer.
"Any word on if Jake made the team?"
It took everything in Spencer not to shoot Frankie the agitated glare that he wanted to.
It seemed like ever since Monday, Frankie had slowly begun pulling away from Spencer... and he could feel it.
And, sure, Spencer knew that she had a lot to work on, with it being their final semester, but Frankie's distance felt like there was more to it than that.
Hell, this was the closest she had been to Spencer all week, and even now, it was because of Jake.
Spencer shrugged, knitting his eyebrows together, slight in frustration, slightly in annoyance.
"No. Why?"
"He was kinda nervous after tryouts yesterday. But I told him that he had nothing to worry about. I mean-- you saw him; he was on fire."
Spencer felt a surge of jealousy flow through his body as he thought back to baseball tryouts and the way Frankie only seemed to be focused on Jake.

"Well Ms. Scott, that didn't seem to take you too long. How do you think you did?"
"I might've mixed up an element or two, but, I studied really hard for this one, so I hope I did well."
Mr. Campbell glanced over Courtney's test quickly before looking back up at her from his desk, smiling as he placed her test in the pile with the others.
"I'll have these back for you guys on Monday, but it's really good to see you turning over a new leaf. That time abroad seems to have you some good."
Courtney eyed Mr. Campbell cautiously before smirking and flipping her hair, turning around to return to her seat.
As she smiled at a few classmates, even winking once, Frankie rolled her eyes, resting her elbow on her desk, propping her chin up under her hand.
She had finished the test a few minutes, ago and was waiting for class to be over, but as Courtney walked back to her desk, that same inky feeling Frankie had been feeling all week had begun to bubble up again.
Frankie didn't buy Courtney's new "nice girl" routine... not even for a second.
The bell eventually rang and as Frankie made her way to the back door, ready to head to her locker, she heard someone call her name.
