▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️"I actually think it's kinda cute how nervous she is."
"Right? She's like a little baby bird ready to leave the nest."
Frankie looked over at Alex and Jasmine through her mirror. The two were sitting on Frankie's bed, watching as she applied a light layer of makeup.
"You guys seriously suck."
"Oh, relax, Cuzzo. It's okay to be freaking out right now. He's the only guy you've ever gone out with sides Austin..."
Alex trailed off a bit, rolling her eyes and grimacing in disgust before she continued.
"Plus, this is like... your first real date. Sneaking around with Austin didn't count because he never came to the door."
As Frankie applied her lipgloss in the mirror, she ignored her cousin and what she knew was true.
For the entire time Frankie and Austin dated-- the whole thirteen months-- it had been kept a secret from her dads.
Austin had grown up playing t-ball with Brendon and Spencer and even went to school with everybody up until high school, but even as a boy, Frankie's dads never seemed to care for him.
He was always too rough, or too loud. More times than not he was a disrespectful smart-mouth and the Roberts didn't want that type of influence around their daughter.
Frankie knew this and kept the relationship a secret from her parents, which only made the breakup harder when they didn't understand why she locked herself away for a month right after her birthday.
"Well... it's not like Jake's coming to my door either. I'm the one picking him up."
"Ahh, that's right. So, you giving Jake a little birthday nookie?"
"Al!"
Both Jasmine and Frankie gave her a look as Jasmine threw a lavender, velvety pillow, hitting Alex square in the face.
Alex used the pillow and flipped over on it on her stomach, crossing her legs up in the air behind her.
"What? I'm just saying..."
"He's barely been here for two months--"
Frankie cut Jasmine off, loving her for standing up for her but feeling woman-enough to speak for herself.
"--And we're not even official yet. We're just... we're taking our time."
Alex shrugged before moving around on the bed once again, scooting up and propping herself up against the headboard as she eyed her cousin.
"Franks, you're hot. He's hot. Any sane person would've jumped his bones by now."
Frankie applied a final layer of mascara, staring at herself in the mirror, making sure her makeup was flawless.
"Well, guess you can call me crazy 'cause I wanna take my time."
Alex gazed at Frankie like she was trying to penetrate her thoughts, a sly smirk on her face a moment later.
"And, you're sure that's the only reason?"
Frankie stared blankly at Alex through the mirror, shrugging her shoulders before she spun around to stand up.
"What else would it be?"
Alex watched as Frankie stepped into her closet, shuffling around, almost refusing to come out. Alex rolled her eyes a little and raised her voice a bit.
