Chapter 5

Jiu's POV

It's a Saturday, which means I don't have school and work. It's a day off. I exhaled loudly before stretching my arms.

I felt my phone vibrated inside my pocket, I picked it up and looked at the caller ID, dongsaeng~ I sighed before picking up the phone.

"Neh..?" I answered.

"Noona.. how are you?" He asked quietly, I frowned.

"I'm doing fine, how are you guys? How's Dad?" I asked softly. I heard him sighed before continuing, "I'm not going to keep this call long noona.. I'm sorry but do you have an extra cash? I need to pay for my project.." he asked, I can hear the the hesitation from his voice.

I cleared my throat before replying, "uhm.. I don't have much extra but I'll send it as soon as I can okay? Don't worry" I said.

"Neh.. noona. Thank you" he said before hanging upshortly after. I sighed.

I turned off my phone before putting it inside my pocket. I sat on our tiny couch before sighing again and putting my hands covering my face. I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Are you alright?" I looked behind and saw Siyeon, "My brother called, asking for money.. and my Dad is not in a great condition" I sighed at her.

"Here, take this" she offered me money, I shook my head refusing it.

"I can't take your money anymore.. I still owed you from last time, Siyeon-ah" I said fighting back my tears. She grabbed my hand before putting the money on my hand and curling my fingers, "Take it please" I lowered my head before sobbing softly.

"I'll return it immediately after I get paid, Thank you Siyeon-ah" She hugged me while patting my back, "It's fine, you can return it whenever you can" I sobbed harder wetting her shirt.

"I know it's hard and I know how hard you've been working for you and your family back home but don't ever hesitate to ask for help okay? I'm here, I'm your bestfriend" I nodded while trying to control my tears that are threatening to fall anytime soon. I pulled away as soon as I felt my phone vibrated inside my pocket.

Hi! Good morning. Have you by any chance told your friend about my peace offering...? - Kim Yoohyeon

I looked at the text before looking back at Siyeon, she raised her eyebrows at me, "it's the girl from the other night.. Yoohyeon"

"Neh?! You guys text each other now?" She said surprised. I shook my head before saying, "She waited for me last night at work, saying she wanted to make it up to us, she said if it's okay for her to ask us on a friendly date.."

She gasped before replying, "she really offered that?" I nodded before saying yes.

"Hm.. maybe she's not a bad person after all.." She said, I nodded in agreement, "yea, I thought so too" she looked at me before saying, "I don't think it'll hurt accepting the offer?" I nodded before looking at my phone and typing something.

Yoohyeon's POV

I yawned, waiting for Jiu's reply. I work 12hrs, 7 days a week. I feel like floating from tiredness but right now I'm feeling ecstatic while waiting for her reply. I don't know why I'm feeling this way but.. I want to get to know her more.

After a few minutes, I received a text from Jiu. I smiled while reading it.

Hi! I informed her just now and she said yes.. :) - Jiu

I felt my body tense from the excitement of seeing her later. Well.. both of them of course including her bestfriend, Siyeon. I felt even more nervous remembering my first encounter with Siyeon-ssi..

I smiled before typing a reply,

I'll pick you guys up in a few then! :D  - Y

I turned off my phone before putting it inside my blazer pocket and started walking towards the parking lot and then driving to their apartment.

I parked outside their apartment before texting Jiu that I've arrived. A few minutes later, I saw both of them got out of the apartment. I smiled. I unlocked the car door so they could get inside.

Jiu sat next to me at the front while Siyeon at the backseat. I smiled at them before greeting them. They greeted back.

"You didn't have to do this, Yoohyeon" Jiu said. I shook my head, "I'll only forget that embarrassing night if I do this, don't worry it's my pleasure" I smiled at her, she smiled back. I almost melt away from the sweetness of her smile. There's something about it so peaceful..

I drove at my sister's restaurant, BBOYA's Kitchen. I told the staff that I made reservations, they lead us towards our seat. I motioned for them to sit while I sat facing them, I smiled.

"I'm sorry to ask but what do you do for a living Yoohyeon-ssi" I looked away quickly before glancing back at her, "I.. worked for this company as a software engineer" I lied. I don't want them to treat me differently just like how others did when they found out I was a billionaire's daughter.

I cleared my throat before asking, "what about you guys..?"

Siyeon went first, "I have a small recording business, it's not that huge but we're making progress and uhh we're getting quite a few recognition here and there"

I nodded, "I worked part time at this family restaurant while I study at night, trying to finish my major" Jiu replied, I looked at her and smiled. She's so hardworking.. another reason to fall in love with her. D-did I really say fall in love??

I nodded before realizing that my sister, also the head chef at this restaurant approached our table. She looked at me confused before looking at Siyeon and Jiu.

I noticed she looked twice back at Siyeon-ssi before looking back at me. I smirked at her.

"What can I get for you guys?" I looked at Siyeon and Jiu which are both looking carefully at the menu.

I immediately signaled my sister to not tell them we're related, she was confused but she nodded anyway, I mouthed a thank you.

"Yoohyeon.. it's very expensive here.." I heard Jiu whispered at me. I quickly turned my attention at them.

"Oh. It's alright, It's on me" Both of them looked at me surprised before refusing. I insisted and told them it's on me until they agreed.

The food we ordered finally came, we started talking and getting familiar with each other. I can't help but to pay more attention to Jiu unintentionally. She's like a black hole and I feel myself getting sucked in her charms. Even though she's not doing very much, she's unintentionally pulling me by her simplicity and her lovely personality. And it doesn't help that she's hardworking too. Sighed.. I hope to know her more.

I smiled while listening to their stories. I saw my sister taking glances at us before nodding at me. I nodded back before returning my attention to Siyeon and Jiu until the dinner ended.
