Chapter 10

a few weeks later..

Yoohyeon's POV

Ever since that incident with Gahyeon, We both agreed not to speak about it until we actually feel something for each other. She's like a little sister to me.

I've never even thought about kissing her at all and I'm sure that it was just the alcohol doing. However, I do feel that she feels the other way around and it's scaring me.. what if I accidentally lead her on? I don't want to break her heart.. I sighed.

It's also been a few weeks since I stopped texting Minji. I felt bad for ignoring her and I honestly can't take it anymore, I just want to go barged in their apartment and steal her away but I can't. She has a boyfriend, she has someone already.

I walked inside DC Hospital to meet my workaholic bestfriend, Dami. Her girlfriend, texted me to come and visit my bestfriend because according to her she's been working non-stop and she's worried for Dami's mental health so here I am.

"Hi, I'm here to visit Yubin" I said to one of the hospital admin. She immediately recognized me before saying she sent a message to my bestfriend and that she will come out and meet me. I nodded, I turned around and found a seat.

"Hey yooh!" I was about to sit but I heard my bestfriend shouted at me. I smiled and gave her a hug.

"Hey, Dongie sent me! You should take a break Yubin-ah" I said, she glared at me, "look who's talking! Look at you you also look like a zombie, all skin and bones! Have you been eating healthy foods?" I ignored her before playfully punching her stomach.

"Yoohyeon-ssi?" Someone called me from behind, I turned around and saw Siyeon. I bowed before greeting her. Dami gave us a look.

"Oh! This is my bestfriend, Dami. Dami, this is Siyeon. Uh.. Jiu's bestfriend" I introduced them, they both greeted each other warmly.

"If you don't mind me asking.. what were you doing here, Siyeon-ssi?" I asked trying not to avoid her gaze.

"Please, just call me Siyeon I'm just visiting Minji's Dad" Siyeon replied, I nodded quite surprised. I wonder what happened to her Dad..

"Anyways, I need to go. It's been a while, Yoohyeon it was nice meeting you again" I nodded, she walked towards the exit.

"She always visit Mr. Kim, I think it's been about two weeks now" Dami said. I narrowed my eyebrows before looking at her curiously.

"They couldn't afford the surgery fees that's why we couldn't proceed with the surgery" Dami revealed, I frowned. I felt so dumb not knowing that Minji goes through tough situations like this. I had no idea..

I nodded before saying, "I'll pay for it. Proceed with the surgery. Just don't tell them that it was me" Dami gave me a look.

"Do you know them?" She asked, I nodded before saying, "Jiu was the girl I was talking to you about, the one that I like.." I saw her surprised reaction before nodding.

"Thanks. I'll let them know about the good news. Don't worry, I'll say it was one of our charities that paid for the surgery" I nodded.

Jiu's POV

It's fall. Which means it's starting to get chilly. I grabbed my hoodie before putting it on and my shoes. I'm getting ready to meet my parents at the hospital.

It's been weeks since Dad got admitted to DC Hospital and I can't help but to stress about it, he's not in great condition and he needed the surgery as soon as possible but they wouldn't proceed with it until we're able to pay half of the fee.

It's honestly tearing me apart just thinking about how to come up with money for my Dad and for my school and apartment. I honestly don't know anymore..

And Yoohyeon was recently added on the list too. I can't stop thinking about her, she's been ghosting me for a total of 4 weeks now. And honestly.. it's sooo frustrating. I'm so frustrated. I sighed.

"Minji? You're still here?" Siyeon got back, I nodded.

"I was about to leave, thanks for visiting again" she waved her hands saying it was nothing.

"Has Yoohyeon contacted you yet?" She asked out of the blue. I shook my head.

"I met her earlier, at the hospital" She replied, I opened my eyes wide.

"D-did you tell her about my Dad?" I stuttered, my face dropped as soon as she nodded her head.

"Oh.. I have to go, I'll meet you later" I said before running out and getting in the uber I called.

As soon as I arrived at the hospital, I went inside my Dad's room and saw my Mom sitting calmly next to my Dad.

"He's sleeping, I have a good news. Let's talk outside shall we?" My mom leads me outside the room.

"W-what's the good news, eomma.." I asked nervously, afraid if it is what I think it is.

"The director of this hospital said that they will proceed with the surgery as early as tomorrow and that we shouldn't worry about the Hospital fees as it's already been paid" She gave me a relieved smile. I faked a smile before excusing myself.

I frowned before dialing the person I think who's responsible for this, Kim Yoohyeon.
