Chapter 12

Jiu's POV

I'm currently sitting on the bench outside the hospital patiently waiting for Yoohyeon.

Honestly, what's taking her so long?? I'm starting to get annoyed. I've been waiting for her more than 30 minutes now. I looked at my phone again, wondering if I got any messages from her saying she can't make it.

I felt someone sat next to me. I quickly glanced at the person before glaring back at the person after realizing it's Yoohyeon.

"Why did you avoid me for almost a month?" I asked in a not so nice tone. She didn't say anything, she just kept her mouth shut. I narrowed my eyes again.

"Do you know how stupid you made me feel? All those days I kept thinking if I did something wrong that made you stop showing up without saying anything?? Did you know that I've been catching feelings for you?? and it's so hard for me recently. Did I.. Did I do something wrong, Yoohyeon?" I asked desperately for her answer. She faced me before saying,

"N-no. You didn't, I just.. I feel like it was wrong for me to hang out with you when we both know I have feelings for you.. I didn't know you already have a boyfriend" She looked away, I narrowed my eyes again feeling confused about what she just said.

"What boyfriend?" I asked firmly.

"That time I told you I couldn't accompany you to lunch, I asked my boss if I could leave early that day so I could hang out with you so.. I went to your work place and didn't find you there so I waited in my car.. then I saw you came back with a guy.. your boyfriend" I rolled my eyes at the mention of the word, boyfriend.

"So, you ignored me for a month because you assumed I was in a relationship with that guy??" I asked angrily and slightly annoyed.

"Well, aren't you?" She snapped back.

"NO!" I half-shouted, She looked away. I can see the hurt from her expression. I kinda regret raising my voice at her..

She looked back at me before saying, "Sorry, I assumed quickly" she lowered her head. I didn't say anything, I'm just carefully watching her every move and expressions. I sighed. What are you doing to me, Kim Yoohyeon..

Yoohyeon's POV

I chuckled quietly after lowering my head. She's single! I've never been so happy in life until now.. kkkk. I felt Jiu's stares at me. I looked up and saw her now glaring at me.

"What's funny?" She asked confused. I shook my head, still grinning. She looked at me suspiciously before thanking me.

"For what?" I asked.

"For paying for my Dad's operation. I don't know how you can afford it. I'm not going to ask if you're not ready to tell me yet but I'll pay you back once I've saved enough" She said, I looked at her before smiling sadly. Sad because I'm such a coward for not telling her and for being scared because I know that my secret is getting too far.

"It's nothing, I'm glad I could help. Pay me whenever" I said, she looked away. I glanced at her.

"When are they doing the operation?" I asked curiously trying to keep the conversation going. She looked at me before raising her brows at me.

"We don't know yet, Dad needs to be prepared for it still" I nodded.

"Are you.. okay?" I asked, she looked at me once again before replying, "I am, are you?" I nodded, she gave me a smile.

Woah.. that's the most mesmerizing smile I've ever seen.

I gasped, "what?" She asked.

"You look even gorgeous when you smile like that" I don't know why I just embarrassed myself in front of her and say that, but I saw her blushed.

"Stop that" she dismissed, I smiled. My phone vibrated, I checked the caller ID, Bora-unnie.

"I think it's late, don't you have to go?" She asked, I badly want to say no and just stay with her but it's past 12AM and my sister is calling me.

I nodded sadly before saying, "yea, I have to go" She nodded before standing up and walking inside the hospital.

"Hey! You said you're starting to catch feelings for me too right? I hope it didn't change today?" I called her before giving her a sad smile.

She shook her head before smiling at me. I smiled back.

"Go home, Yoohyeon" She smiled once again before we went our separate ways. I hope that's a yes.. I can't help but to smile the whole ride back to my condo. At least we're ok for now..
