The following morning, Alex was abruptly awakened by incessant loud banging and shouting from the other side of his door.
As he came to his senses and sat up on his mattress, he realised whose voice that was.
"ALEX!! BEST FRIEND!! YOOO HOOOO!! IT'S WAKEY-WAKEY TIME!!" Violet blurted.
"She's for sure the most annoying fucking alarm clock in the world," Alex groaned as he quickly slipped into his clothes and waddled over to his door, leading Violet to fall silent as she heard the door unlocking.
"Hellooooo, friend!" She cheerfully uttered with her hands behind her back as she saw Alex's pale morning face.
"The hell is your problem?" He frustratedly asked as he roughly rubbed his eyes.
"My problem?" Violet said with a confused look on her face. "There's no problem! I'm just greeting my buddy!"
"Sheesh, just be glad you're a morning person, Violet," he replied as he leaned tiredly against the wall.
"You're not exhausted already, are you?"
"Nah, my brain's just a little los- AH!"
That same sharp pain suddenly hit Alex once again, and it was slightly more intense than last time. It made him feel like his brain had begun rapidly racing in circles.
"Are you alright?!" Violet asked urgently. "Maybe you needed more sleep, I'm sorry..."
"No, Violet!" He looked up at her and shouted. "Sorry, gah... it's that damn headache again... it stings like a bitch."
They then heard the door beside them unlocking, and so they glanced over to see Maria looking rather unimpressed.
"Can we help you?" Alex grunted with his hand on his head.
"Yes, you can actually. Shut up."
"Bit rude, aren't you?" Alex asked bitterly.
"It's pretty reasonable to be annoyed by somebody groaning right by my door at this hour," Maria stated.
"Yeah..." Alex sighed, "fair enough. Just these shitty headaches again."
"Yeah well, we're all getting them. You'll just gonna have to suck it up and shut up," Maria commanded before slamming her door, leaving Alex and Violet alone in the hall.
Then, in an attempt to make small talk, Alex asked: "What time is it, anyway?"
"Uh..." Violet muttered as she looked down at her watch, "Just hit 7."
Then at that moment, Aurora suddenly darted out of her room, and without even looking at Alex and Violet, was about to be headed yonder down the hall.
"Uh- hey-" Alex quickly said.
"What?" Aurora turned to Alex, stopping dead in her tracks.
"Where are you heading this early?"
"I got stuff to do. Bye."
"But-"
Without a further word, she continued speed walking down the hall, sending herself swiftly out of their view
"That girl is... curious," Violet confusedly stated.
"Isn't she? She seems so forward about everything she's doing here like she has the place already figured out."
Then, a screeching microphone noise could be heard from the speakers around them, alerting and scaring Alex and Violet.
