The time was 7:09 am.
Fate hadn't announced any morning meetups so far, which they usually do within the first five minutes of the day commencing.
Every prisoner in the facility was still fast asleep or laying in bed in their respective rooms.
Everyone except for Omar.
Omar had been rudely awakened by a nightmare he had, and so ended up laying in bed for a good half hour before deciding to exit his room and head to the storage room, as curiosity had gained control of him.
The storage room was dark, dank, and dusty. It had a very similar vibe and atmosphere to the library Alex and Adam explored when they were searching for the newspaper about their apparent kidnapping.
When Omar slowly opened the small wooden door to the room, the creaking sound was loud enough to echo through the whole hallway.
Thankfully, the storage room was located on the opposite end of the facility, so the odds of his entry waking somebody up were low.
Once he walked inside, a cobweb that had been formed attached to the door frame snapped, and a cloud of dust flew into Omar's face, causing him to cough and sneeze as though he were having an allergic reaction.
As soon as he had stopped coughing and was able to open his eyes wide again, he glanced around the room in awe at the number of old documents and files that were dotted around in there.
He scratched his chin curiously, confused by the fact that nobody had tried searching through these documents until now. His main reason for wishing to look through the contents of this room was because of the possibility that Fate had hidden some clues in here somewhere.
It would've been a sneaky move, but the fact that they didn't say anything about this room made him even more curious.
After all, what could possibly be in these documents that WOULDN'T be useful? This is what he thought, naturally. The fact that nobody had tried looking at any of this was incredibly baffling to him.
Though there was no point standing around baffled at the fact that he was the first to do this, he'd be wasting time if he didn't try taking a look around, he thought.
Once he had slowly and carefully shut the door behind him, he wandered over to a pile of boxes at the far-right side of the room. Glancing down at the pile and noticing there was a lot to look through, he then realised how overwhelming and time-consuming this brief look could be.
He was not ready to give up already, though. So, he picked up one of the heavier boxes filled with documents and was about to lower it to the ground, before he slipped on the concrete, dropping the box of dusty files to the floor, and collapsing into the hard wall behind him, which made a heavy cracking sound, causing Omar's heart to sink down into his chest, as he feared he may have just broken his back.
As he painfully hit the floor, he whispered: "Shit-!" before groaning and lifting himself back up.
Once he was back on his feet, he reached his hand behind his back, to feel around out of fear he'd broken it.
His worries ceased once he stretched and cracked his back, realising he was okay. Although, one other important piece of damage caught his attention the moment he noticed it.
The thing that cracked wasn't his back, it was the wall itself.
Omar ran his hand down the crack and noticed how weak the wall seemed to be. He pushed his hand into it and could almost feel it breaking entirely.
He felt excited to know he might be able to just knock this down and escape, but then another worry hit him as he comprehended the severity of what he just did.
