Arrival brew

I pulled up outside the caravan, this was going to be my home for the next few weeks. It wasn't the best but it was cheap, it was available and it was as far away from Bobby as I could manage to get. The guy who showed me where to go was pretty cute though. I'm sure he said his name was Tom.

I had initially booked 2 weeks, as I was sure that that would give me enough time to get all the work done that I needed too and Shirley, the site manager had said that if I wanted too there was availability for me to stay an extra week or two, it was off peak season so the park was fairly quiet. There were some odd jobs on site doing laundry and things as well if I wanted it for a bit of extra cash or too help cover an extra few days. I knew Shirley as she was a friend of my Aunts but Bobby didn't know her so I knew that there was no chance of him looking for me here.

I went into the caravan and looked around. It was a nice little basic yet clean static caravan. When you entered through the main door you walked straight into the kitchen/diner/living area, straight in front of you was a little bathroom with a shower and to your right was a double bedroom. It was basic but it would do for all I needed it for. Tom had let me know that he lived in the caravan next to me, just in case I needed anything. Oh, would you look at that, Tom was home and I needed something.

I walked across and knocked twice and waited for him to open the door. It didn't take him long and he was topless when he did. "Oh hey Y/N, are you ok? Settling in alright babe?" I had to quickly draw my eyes away from his toned yet not overly muscular chest.

"Yeah, I'm not too bad thanks. I was just wondering if you could let me know how I get to the supermarket? I realised I am here for at least 2 weeks and didn't think to bring any tea or coffee with me and I'm gasping for a brew."

"I was just putting the kettle on myself as I am done for the day now, do you want to join me? Then afterwards I will let you know exactly where it is that you need to go if you want? Shirley told me you have had a long drive so the least you will want is a cuppa." He asked and smiled widely.

"That would be lovely thanks and yeah it was a 4 hour drive so a brew and a rest would be nice." Tom opened the door and gestured for me to enter. I did so and realised it was a little untidy, typical bachelor pad. I looked around and his layout was the same as mine and his bedroom door was wide open allowing me to see inside. I took a deep breath in and the smell of Joop filled my nostrils.

"Sorry about the mess I have been working a lot lately and not really been here to clean. Take a seat anywhere that you can find one." He flicked the kettle on and gestured for me to take a seat on the caravan bench seat. I sat in the corner near the window and looked out over the sea.

"Gorgeous view, I bet that that is a view that you don't get easily bored of isn't it?" I looked over and he was chucking a bourbon in his mouth as he was stirring the teas.

He swallowed hastily. "Sorry, haven't really eaten much today, or for the last few months to be honest. Yeah, it's a stunning view, especially at night when the sun starts to set. You may see it if you stay long enough." He walked over and put the cups on the windowsill and sat close to me at the window.

"How long have you worked here then? I don't remember seeing you here last time I visited Shirley. Then again that was probably a few years back now. And how come you have been working so much? Is there really that much to do during the quiet season?" I started firing questions at him.

He gulped from his cup and started to answer me. "This is only my second season but my first full season. As for working so much, there is nothing else for me to do and I don't really want to spend too much time in here, alone. Let's just say bad memories." He took another sip from his cup and placed it back on the window sill. "So, why are you here? What are you running away from?"

I placed my cup down near his and our hands brushed against each other. I sighed and then started waffling. "Well the short story is I found my Fiancé in bed with my best friend." He looked a little taken aback. "Yeah, that old Chestnut. I have a book I need to get written and over to my publishers by the end of October and there is no way that he would ever think to look here for me. Now will you tell me a little about why you don't like being here alone?"

Tom thought about it for a second then spoke. "First of all, that was a dickhead move on his part. Secondly, my girlfriend came down here to be with me during the closed season." I looked to the floor, a little gutted that he seemed to have a girlfriend. "But while she was here she started sleeping with one of the other laundry girls and they ran off to another campsite together." I must have looked stunned. "You look a little like I did when I found out to be honest with you. So as for being alone, I don't have a missus so I work as much as I can as it gets lonely in here with nothing but your thoughts and a TV."

"I'm sorry she did that to you, that's pretty shitty. Were you together long?"

"A little over 3 years." He took both cups, now empty over to the sink. He was right, the view was beautiful when the sun was setting and he must of caught me staring at it. "Told you it was nice, didn't I?"

"Yeah, almost a shame that I need to go shopping. Means I am going to miss it. Actually, you know what, is there a takeaway that delivers to here? Well, not here, your place. I mean to the campsite and then I will just go in the morning. I wasn't suggesting I stay here and eat. Sorry." He looked almost disappointed.

"Yeah, there is a Chinese that delivers right to the caravan. I have a menu here if you want to take a look." He threw the menu over to me and then started rooting through his own cupboards. I guessed that he was looking for something to eat himself.

"Hey I know we only met today and this is completely platonic but would you care to join me? My treat as a thank you for the tea and talk. Plus if I am honest it saves the both of us being alone. Also you said you haven't eaten properly for a while and I always order way too much so you would actually be doing me a favour."

"Go on then, you twisted my arm." He came and flopped down on the caravan sofa next to me, looking at the menu over my shoulder and placed his arm across the back behind me. He smelt so good. And was still topless.
