Caught out

It didn't take me that long to get back to our caravan. I spent a few minutes pacing up and down the living space still trying to take things in. I wasn't sure whether or not I was hurt, angry or relieved. At least if he hurt me now I had chance to get away before baby was born. Or did I just need to put in more effort with Tom? What if him running to Jenna was my fault? Maybe I should face him rather than runaway like I did with Bobby? My head was spinning, the only thing I knew for sure was I needed to go for a drive.

I grabbed my purse and keys and headed to the supermarket to get a few bits in, do some retail therapy and to try and clear my head. I had to be wrong, didn't I? As I drove through the entrance gates on my way to the shops I made the mistake of looking in my rear view mirror and saw Jenna leaving the chalet. All I could see was Tom giving her a hug and a kiss on the cheek, that hug in my mind seemed to linger a little too long though. I felt my anger starting to rise inside more.

I got to the supermarket without crashing thankfully, how miserably ironic would that have been? I composed myself and fight or flight kicked in and this bird was an Emu, I had no intention of taking flight. I had a baby to think about as well as myself. I grabbed my stuff and entered the shop picking up some of Tom's favourite foods as I went. Steak, baked potato and creamy mushrooms with onion rings and salad. Followed by apple pie and custard. None was going to be homemade though, I wasn't in that good of a mood yet.

I got what I needed and started making my way back to the park. As I entered through the gates Tom was leaving the chalet, locking it behind him. I stopped the car and wound the window down. "Alright sexy, what are you doing in there?" Half of me wanting to catch him out, half of me wanting to try and stay rational. Tom spun around looking flustered, cheeks flushing red and panic in his eyes. Bastard had been caught and my hormones were not helping my psyche but I was doing my best to stay calm.

TOM'S POV

I stood in the doorway of the chalet and looked around taking in all of the work that we had managed to complete in such a short time. I couldn't help but smile and be pleased at all we had accomplished in just a few days. I was surprised to see everything was done other than the carpets to be laid which would be happening in a day or two.

I grabbed the keys and made my way to leave. Jenna had left just over an hour ago and I had spent the last hour finishing off the glossing. As I was locking the front door to the chalet I heard an all too familiar voice calling out from behind me. "Alright sexy, what are you doing in there?"

I felt my blood run cold as I started trying to think of excuses and answers without telling her the real reasons. I tried my hardest not to show the panic I could feel creeping over me. "Nothing babe, just finished. Shirley asked me to get them glossed and tidied up." I held my hands up to show her the gloss that was covering my hands.

She didn't look impressed. I made my way over to the car and got in. "So what are you doing babe? I thought that you were at home relaxing and putting your feet up." I questioned her to try and draw her attention away from the chalet and what was really going on inside.

"I just couldn't rest so I decided that I would go and grab some shopping from Town. Steak ok for your dinner tonight?" She asked while gripping the steering wheel tight enough so that her knuckles were white. Something wasn't right and I had a feeling that I was going to find out shortly exactly what it was that was pissing her off.
