Winter is coming

A few days later the park closed ready for the Winter, Shirley packed her bags ready to jet off somewhere warm for a few weeks to rest and recharge before the hard work really started for all of us. Shirley had left Tom, Kai and I in charge of overseeing the staff who had stayed behind which wasn't as easy as I thought that it would be. Turns out not many people want to stay on an empty caravan park in freezing cold Cornwall over the Winter period.

The first thing that we all agreed on doing was holding a meeting so that we could all sit down together and divvy up the tasks. Naturally though Tom was being overprotective and ensuring that most of my jobs were sitting down or light cleaning. I felt as though I was unable not pregnant, anybody would have thought that I was the one and only woman to have gone through this. It was agreed between everyone though that I would do the majority of the admin and would essentially be the woman in charge should any issues arise that could be handled from a desk.

"Tom?" I asked while sat at the reception desk making calls to arrange outside contractors were needed. He spun to look at me, a few lose screws hanging out of the corner of his mouth and screwdriver in hand from the shelves he was hanging. "Are you sure that there is nothing more that I need to be doing today? I am bored shitless sat here and all the phone calls are nearly done."

Tom shook his head at me in disbelief before removing the screws and talking. "You know what you need to do. You need to rest up and keep an eye on yourself for me. Kai is ok with you doing minimal and so am I, the last thing we want is you getting rushed back into hospital. Understood?" He sounded very forceful and I have to admit that making me feel like a naughty little schoolgirl definitely made me smile more than it should of.

"Well maybe I would be more inclined to behave myself and do as I am told if you were to let me get a few jobs done and then you could join me in resting up. What do you say to that?" I gave Tom my cheekiest and most innocent look in the hopes that he would take me up on the offer.

"You know damn well why I am doing all these jobs missus. Now get your ass back to the caravan, have a shower and put your feet up." I gave a humph and pouted but it was no good. "Pack it in, put that pout away and do as you are told lady. Now go." I did as I was told, grabbed my stuff together and headed slowly and begrudgingly back to the caravan.

I reached into my pocket for my mobile phone before realising I had left it on charge at reception so turned back round to go and get it. I got to the reception and noticed Tom was nowhere to be seen. He had obviously done what he needed to do and moved onto the next job. I got to the desk and unplugged my phone before hearing Tom's voice. He was talking to someone. "Yeah alright." Then a pause, he must have been on the phone. "No, honestly she doesn't have a clue about it so don't worry." Who was he talking too? Who didn't have a clue about what? "She has finished so I sent her home. Shall I met you there in about an hour?" I could feel a lump forming in my throat. Was Tom cheating on me? I didn't want to stick around to hear anymore so I left.

As the cold air hit my face tears started to drench my cheeks. I needed to be sick and this time it was nothing to do with the baby. Thankfully I wasn't pregnant enough not to be able to run so I ran back to the caravan to try and calm myself. Who was Tom talking too? Why was he meeting them? And where?

TOM'S POV

Why on earth was that god damn woman so bloody stubborn? Did she not realise I was doing what was good for her? I was out the back and on the phone when I heard the door slam. I walked back into the reception area to see what was going on, I couldn't afford to have Y/N hear me on the phone. I didn't want her finding anything out.

I checked around but no one was there, must have been the wind. "So can you make sure that you bring the paint for the small room? I have someone coming in a few days to lay the carpet so I really want to make sure all the painting is done before that goes down." Kai carried on telling me what else he had managed to pick up. "Perfect mate, thank you. As I said I will see you in an hour and I think Jenna is coming with me today as she has said she will get curtains sorted for me." I hung up and exhaled. I couldn't wait for Y/N to see what I had been working so hard for, I just hoped she liked it.
