Crossed wires

It was bitterly cold and I wasn't sure whether or not it was the tears or the cold sea breeze stinging my face. I was starting to feel that familiar tightness grip my chest as I ran while breathing in the ice cold air. I made it to the caravan in record time, opened the door, entered and slammed it behind me. I felt my back hit the door as I stepped back whilst almost choking on my own tears. I slid down the door and allowed the sobs to come out, loud, long and gut wrenching.

After sitting against the door crying for at least half an hour I calmed myself down. I got myself up off of the floor and showered before changing into some fresher clothes to see if that could ease me of my pain. I sat on the sofa and looked at my phone, it was just coming up too an hour since I heard Tom's conversation with whoever was on the other end of the phone. I took a deep breath and decided I would walk down to the front and see if I could see anything or anyone.

I pulled my coat on and made my way back out into the now raining park and across to the front of the park. As I neared the reception I heard Tom talking to someone so I decided to stop and hide behind the bins. "Are you really sure Y/N has no idea what we are doing?" I knew that voice, that was Jenna. She was one of the others who had stayed behind for the Winter.

"Nah, she hasn't got a clue. Not sure how much longer I can keep this up for though to be honest with you. I am constantly scared that she will find out what we are doing." I peered between the bins and saw Tom and Jenna walking from reception to the brick built chalets opposite. There was 2 groups of 4, each one had 2 bedrooms, kitchen/living area, bathroom, a parking space and a couple were even adapted for our disabled guests with their own wet rooms, ramps and extra wide interior doors.

"You honestly have no need to panic Tom, we are being as secretive as we can be. Anyway would it be such a bad thing if things were out in the open already?" Jenna was now stroking Tom's arm. I loved him and thought he loved me and she was supposed to be a friend. How could they be doing this to me?

I shuffled towards the other end of the bins and continued to watch them as they made their way towards the most run down chalet on the end of the row. Tom took out a set of keys and opened the door gesturing for Jenna to enter first. I couldn't hear what they were saying anymore but I could see and I had seen enough.

I returned to our caravan not knowing how I was feeling or not even knowing how to take in what I had just seen the pair of them doing and heard them saying to each other. It certainly seemed to me as though everything was pointing to Tom cheating on me and it now seemed to confirm that Jenna was the slut that he was sleeping with behind my back.

TOM'S POV

I met Jenna and we started making our way towards the chalets near the entrance. "Are you really sure Y/N has no idea what we are doing?"

"Nah, she hasn't got a clue. Not sure how much longer I can keep this up for though to be honest with you. I am constantly scared that she will find out what we are doing." We had managed to keep up the pretence for the last few weeks while we started clearing out the chalet and decorating it but it was hard having to keep it from her.

"You honestly have no need to panic Tom, we are being as secretive as we can be. Anyway would it be such a bad thing if things were out in the open already?" I looked at Jenna a little perplexed. "Just think about it, if she was to already know then she would be able to pick out furniture and things with you instead of me guessing what she will like."

I opened the door and gestured for Jenna to enter first and I followed behind her, I couldn't help shake off the feeling that I was being watched and it was setting me on edge. The last thing I wanted was her finding out from someone who had the wrong end of the stick. Everything I was doing was for me, Y/N and our growing little bundle.
