She reached the van, seeing Five still watching the building closely, his eyes falling down from time to time but remaining awake. She chuckled from behind as she opened the door and got inside and saw Delores sitting in the middle.
"Hey, Delores." she greeted
"Hey, how did it go?" Delores asked
"For starters, Five's family doesn't really think of me as his voter. More like a nobody." she answered "What did they tell you?" Five asked, "It doesn't matter. I'm starting to feel like they just don't like me."
"They don't hate you, n/n. They're just being careful." Five said softly "From what, exactly? You said it yourself that my vote is your vote and if they think I'm some kind of a traitor, I should've killed you in the first place." she exclaimed and clutched her clothes, realizing her necklace was still gone.
Five noticed this and can tell she was worried, his eyes softened, and knew that she was still worried about that necklace. "I-I'm sorry...I sound like an idiot, we should focus on the mission," she said and tucked her hair behind her ear.
He unbuckled his seatbelt and opened his arms which she immediately dive in and rest her head on his chest, hearing his heartbeat, "I'm so lucky to have you..." she whispered, "Even this place is a piece of shit, even everybody is a piece of shit." she added which made him smile.
"I miss you so much." she muttered and tightened her hug while feeling her eyes shut down.
Five frowned, "I'm not sure if you're talking about a while ago or something else."
"Of course, I'm talking about you. You're my husband, silly." she chuckled, letting her eyes shut down completely as her breathing went calm.
Husband?
Is she waiting for him to propose?
"I think she's waiting for you Five." Delores grinned, "You've already got a ring. Why don't you ask her?"
His cheeks got warm, "I-I don't know, Delores. Maybe after all of this is over, I will." he smiled and kissed her forehead, seeing the girl sleeping comfortably in his arms.
Her body jolted up automatically causing Five to jump in surprise, "You okay?" he asked when he saw her panting, holding her shirt tightly.
"I just had the strangest dream." she whispered, "Delores. I dreamed of Delores french kissing with Mickey Mouse. God–it was disgusting!" she exclaimed.
She looked at Delores to the side who was sleeping, "I'm sorry Delores. I can't really control my dreams and I regret to tell you that I do enjoy them."
Five restrained himself from laughing to not offend Delores, Y/N saw this and covered her mouth from bursting into laughter. They both looked at the building as she realized it was already dark as Five continued to focus on the mission, his face looking so stern that she didn't want to interrupt his thoughts.
Not long, she didn't find anything strange in the building and got bored in the car waiting for nothing, "Five, I think we're digging the wrong hole. We only have six days left before this all ends and we can't keep waiting here." she finally said.
"You know, you don't have to tell me that. I know there are only six days left." Five replied, looking frustrated.
"This will not do anything..." she sighed and leaned her back on the chair.
"Yeah, you got a better idea?" he exclaimed causing her to look at him from his sudden frustration.
She lifted her back up as they noticed Delores woke up from their conversation, "Yes. My 'better idea' is to threaten this Grant, whatever his name was, to find the owner of the eye." she quoted.
