Just three days were left for us to move to California. The past two weeks had gone by so fast.
My best friend, Rochelle was helping me with the last minute packing.
"I still can't believe that you're leaving" she said as she stored my stuff in a carton. "I'm going to miss you so much."
Rochelle and I had been friends ever since we were kids. She had always been there for me no matter what. I trusted her with my life and the fact that she wouldn't be by my side anymore got me worried.
"I'm going to miss you too. I don't even know how I'm going to survive without you" I mumbled. "And this is such an odd time to change schools. My first day is going to be awkward, don't you think?"
"I actually don't think so. You're going a little overboard with this, you know? I mean, why will anybody not like you? Oh, and look at the bright side. New place means new guys" she said, her dark brown eyes sparkling.
"You know I couldn't care less about guys. That's like the last thing on my mind" I said, rolling my eyes at her.
"What if they're too hot?" she winked.
"Shut up" I giggled and slapped her arm. "I wish I didn't have to go."
"It's going to be fine, Mavis." she said as she hugged me.
I wasn't convinced. I was going crazy thinking about all the things that could possibly go wrong.
