Troye: Look out the window.
I read the text at least 5 times before getting off my bed and walking over to the window. I suddenly had this nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach. Could he possibly be standing down? I glanced at the clock. It was 12:00 am. I hadn't realised it got so late.
My phone buzzed again. It was another text from Troye.
Troye: Are you awake?
I slowly pushed my window open and peered out. All I could see was the shiny full moon beaming and the trees swaying due to the refreshing night time breeze. I didn't know why Troye asked me to look out. Confused, I finally replied to his texts.
Mavis: Alright.. What am I supposed to see?
He replied almost immediately.
Troye: Nothing really. The weather is nice. :)
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. This boy was weird sometimes.
But I couldn't deny the fact that the weather was actually nice. I left my window open and went back to my bed. Getting under the blanket, I sent him a reply.
Mavis: Well, yeah..
Troye: I'm weird. Sorry. Anyways, listen to Stay with me?
Mavis: Alright. :)
I put my earphones on and played the song. I closed my eyes listening to Sam Smith's captivating voice. I was drifting off to my own world of fantasy when I felt something jump on my bed and tickle my chin. I gasped and my eyes shot open. On my chest sat a light brown kitten staring at me with it's adorable grey eyes.
"Oh my God," I breathed. "Where did you come from?" I scooped the little thing into my hands. It was so small and snuggled it's head against the skin of my palm.
I lifted my gaze to see a familiar figure standing near my bed. He awkwardly stood there with his hand on the back of his neck, with a small smile on his face.
"Happy Birthday Mavis." He finally said.
I gaped at him as he walked over and sat on my bed.
"How did you know?" I asked shyly.
"Remember our game of 20 questions last week?" He tapped the side of his head. "I have a good memory."
I could feel my heart hula hooping in my chest.
"Is this mine?" I asked, petting the kitten's head.
"Yep. Do you like her?"
"I love her. She's so beautiful." I kissed the kitten's nose.
Troye's smile stayed on his face. My cheeks as usual were the deepest shade of red. This had to be one of the best birthdays ever.
"Troye?"
"Hm?"
"How did you get in?" I asked, starting to get a little nervous.
Troye's smile turned into a smirk. "Why do you think I asked you to open the window?"
"How do you know I would leave it open?"
"I took a chance." He shrugged.
I giggled. "Thank you."
"I'm glad you like her."
"There's just one problem though. My mom happens to dislike pets.." I trailed off.
"Don't worry. I've convinced her." He shrugged.
I stared at him slack jawed. "And she said I can keep her?"
"Yes." He laughed and ruffled my hair.
"How on earth did you manage to do that?" I asked.
"I'm quite a charmer." He winked.
The kitten jumped down from my lap and propped herself against Troye's knee. I smiled at the sight of Troye rubbing her neck as she meowed.
We sat in complete silence listening to her soft meows.
"What's her name?" I asked, breaking the silence.
"She doesn't have one. You pick." He held her tiny paws as she stood on her hind legs. "Anyway, I should get going now. We have school tomorrow. I just wanted to wish you first."
I shall die.
I blushed and looked away. I didn't think he'd actually remember. And get me such a lovely present. I could feel microbursts in my whole body.
"Thank you so much Troye." I said as we got off the bed.
"It's the least I could do," He enveloped me into a hug. "Besides, there's more."
I could just burst out crying right now. Before I could say anything he planted a kiss on my forehead and walked over to the window.
"Happy Birthday Mavis." He smiled and climbed down the tree that had it's branches just outside my window.
After Troye left, I went to bed hugging my little kitten and fell asleep to the sound of her purring.

Short chapter, but please deal with it for now. School isn't letting me live. Gah.
