I walked towards Troye who was sitting on the hood of his car, staring at the screen of his phone. I tapped him on his shoulder once I reached him. He looked up and flashed me his breathtaking smile. It took me a moment to digest the fact that he looked so good right now. He wore a light blue button up shirt with khaki pants. His hair was disheveled as usual, which made me want to run my hands through them. This boy was the epitome of perfection.

"Hi Mavis." he jumped off the hood and opened the passenger side door for me.

"Hey." I smiled and got in.

I tried to get rid of Troye the moment he parked his car in the school grounds. Not that I didn't like his company but I honestly didn't want his admirers to stare at me. Troye being the stubborn guy he was, insisted on walking me to my locker, so I gave up.

As expected I got death glares from every single girl as soon as I set foot in the school building. If looks could kill, I'd probably be dead by now.

"Do you not feel awkward with all these people staring at you?" I was getting annoyed already. Sure Troye looks like an Abercrombie and Fitch model, but that doesn't mean they should all have their eyes glued to him all the time. That's just rude.

Says the girl who couldn't take her eyes off him on her first day.

"I didn't even notice till you pointed it out." He ran his hand through his hair.

I want to do that..

Before I could say anything else he took my hand and lead me to the classes. We were almost late for our first class.
I couldn't help but smile looking at his hand entwined with mine. I only stopped staring at our hands when we bumped into Allison and Lucy.

"Hi Ma-" Lucy began, but she stopped when her eyes landed on our hands. Her eyes widened in surprise and she looked at me. And then she did the most embarrassing thing ever. She squealed. I jerked my hand away, turning into a million shades of red if that was possible. Allison smirked at me, making me want to smack her face.
I glared at them wishing they both would wipe their stupid expressions off their faces.
Lucy was oblivious to the fact that I was feeling so uncomfortable right now.

Oh lord why does she have to be so dense?

"You guys are so cute." She gushed. As soon as these words left her forever open mouth, I mentally face palmed myself. I saw Troye give her a tight lipped smile.

Oh God, no..

I wanted to rip my heart out of my chest and throw it away as it was beating away so damn furiously.
Allison stood there with that annoying grin still plastered on her face, wiggling her eyebrows.

Thank the lord above, the bell rang and we got into the classroom. I avoided looking at Allison and Lucy even though I could feel their eyes burning holes at the back of my head, as weird as that sounds.
Troye being seated right in front of me wasn't helping either. I had so much difficulty in concentrating on what Mrs. Noah was saying.
These people drive me crazy. God, please help me.

The rest of the day fortunately passed by without any more drama.
The girls had asked me to go to the mall with them to shop for Allison's birthday party next week, so here we were. Trying out clothes at our favorite store, Forever 21.

"Here. Try these on." Lucy handed me a pile of clothes and walked away. She had a huge obsession with clothes. She just couldn't get enough.

Taylor told us she'd meet us at the food court after we were done. She claimed that didn't want to get bored. She hated shopping unless it was for sports equipment or video games.

"So, how was your date?" Allison winked.

"How did you know? And it wasn't a date."

Allison gave me the 'are you stupid' look. "Who do you think told him about your obsession with chocolate covered strawberries?" She asked. "You both had a moonlight picnic Mavis. Of course it was a date."

A small smile crossed my lips as I looked away thinking about last night's events. "Whatever you want to call it. It was lovely."

Allison was about to say something when Lucy interrupted her. "I asked you both to try these on." She frowned.

"I'm not trying out everything Lucy. My limit is one." I told her. "I really like this one. I'll go try it." I picked a light blue gown.

I stripped off my clothes and slipped into the dress. It was absolutely beautiful, if not more. The bodice had a sweetheart neckline with an intricate design. The accented waistband clinched my curves and the skirt cascaded to the ground. I immediately liked what I saw. I got out of the dressing room to show the girls. Lucy was waiting outside with two dresses in her hands. She squealed in delight when she saw me. "That dress is just made for you Mavis. What do you think Allison?" She asked.
"You're going to steal my limelight." She joked.
"Oh I would never." I fake gasped. Allison chuckled.
"Okay which one?" Lucy asked, holding up two dresses. One was a royal blue dress which was backless with black beads lining the neckline. The other was a light green long dress. It had a narrow waistline and then flared out, creating a broad hemline.

"Green." Allison and I said in unison.

After getting a dress for Allison, and paying for our dresses, we decided to meet up with Taylor as it was getting late and we had to get home.

When I walked into the living room, I saw mom sitting with Deeyola and a woman who seemed to be in her mid forties. She had the same black hair and radiant green eyes as Deeyola.

"Here she is. This my daughter Mavis. Mavis, this is Mrs. Sanchez." Mom introduced.

"Hi." I awkwardly waved at them. "It's nice to meet you Mrs. Sanchez."

Deeyola came up to me and hugged me. "Okay, we'll be upstairs if you need us." She announced.

"Bye Mrs. Sanchez." I nodded politely before running upstairs with Deeyola.

"Finally." Deeyola said, plopping down on my bed. "Tell me about the boy now."

I should have known.

"What boy?" I pretended.

"Tyler."

"His name is Troye."

"I'm glad you remember." She smirked.

Damn.

I groaned as I sat down beside her. "He's just a boy. He's Allison's cousin. We have most of our classes together."

"So you would jump out of bed like you did for any ordinary boy?" She laughed. "You should have seen your face."

By now she was laughing so much that her eyes started to water. I threw a pillow at her and it hit her right in the face. She threw it back at me and it resulted in a pillow fight, which only stopped when Deeyola's mom called her.
By the time Deeyola left, it was 8:30pm. I quickly took a shower and put on shorts and a baggy t-shirt. I switched on my laptop and started on the research I had to do for an assignment. I was half way through when my phone buzzed.
It was a text from Troye.

Troye: Look out the window.
