To say that my heart was beating frantically would be an understatement. It had been 7 minutes since Troye hung up. He would be here any minute now. My evil friends were going crazy laughing. I personally thought they were exaggerating.
Look who's talking.
My phone buzzed in my hand, breaking me out of my reverie. The girls snatched the phone from me, opening the text, which was obviously from Troye, stating that he was here.
Lucy started squealing as usual, Allison and Rochelle were pulling me off the couch, and Taylor sat with a smug look on her face. I could feel my knees wobble as they pushed me towards the door. Glaring at them for one last time, I took a deep breath and opened the door, making sure not to make any noise. I would definitely be dead if my parents woke up. Gently closing it behind me, I walked towards Troye who stood a few meters away from me. He smiled as soon as he saw me and I instantly felt my heart doing somersaults."Hi." He said, once I was next to him.
"Hi.." I said, hoping he wouldn't notice that my voice was shaky.
"I thought you were having a sleepover with the girls?" He questioned.
"Well yeah, they're inside." I told him.
He raised his eyebrows and then a smile spread across his face. "This was a dare, wasn't it?" He laughed.
"Yes!" My voice came out full of enthusiasm, feeling relieved that he was smart enough to figure this out. Thank the heavens. "I mean, yes.." I repeated in a calm voice this time, feeling stupid.
He chuckled, and let me tell you, he looked adorable. Beyond adorable.
"I'm really sorry." I mumbled.
"For?" He inquired.
"For calling you here at this unholy hour." I stated the obvious.
He shook his head and smiled. "It's okay Mavis. I wouldn't have come if I didn't want to."
I don't know what he meant but it kind of made me feel happy.
"I'm still sorry." I said, staring at my hands.
"Mavis. It's okay. Really." He held my hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze.
I gave him a small smile which was probably very wobbly and I bet I looked constipated, so I hope it was dark enough here to hide my embarrassing expressions.
"You should go now.." I trailed off.
"Really?" He asked, letting my hand go.
I nodded.
"Wow, you're mean." He said.
My head snapped up and I looked at him feeling confused. And awkward.
"I came here at midnight just because you called me," he continued. "And you're asking me to go back just like that?"
I stood there gaping at him not quite sure of what was going on.
"I think I deserve a hug." He grinned, holding out his hands.
Oh. Uh.. OH.
