I nervously sat in front of my dresser while braiding my hair. Troye hadn't told me where he was taking me but he did tell me that we wouldn't be doing anything fancy. Allison and Lucy were at my house, helping me pick out my outfit, and let me tell you that they were beyond excited. It felt nice because it was me who they were excited for. They were genuinely so happy for me and I really admired that. Even Rochelle was on top of the world when I told her. Deeyola had a completely different reaction. She was excited and worried at the same time. She had told me to take care of myself at least a thousand times. Thank the Lord for such friends.
Allison had picked out my light green shorts and paired them with a cute black top that I owned. She had also picked out my black pair of converse to go with the outfit. Something told me that she knew what Troye had planned. I had tried asking her about it but she just brushed me off. After giving me a pep talk and calming me down, Allison left as she had to get ready for her own date with Jacob. Lucy left shortly after Allison, as soon as I had handed her all of Caramel's things. She had offered to take care of the little angel as I didn't want to burden my parents too much.
I was left sitting on my bed playing Candy Crush around 7:30 pm, when the door bell rang. Troye was here. I opened my door just a crack, and heard some voices. I purposely hadn't rushed down to open the door because I wanted Dad to have a little talk with Troye. Weird, I know. Most girls would hate the idea of their parents talking to a guy just before a date, but I knew that Dad wouldn't embarrass me. My mom had to give my dad a million reasons to convince him to let me go. I wanted him to be completely satisfied. Taking my own time, I slowly put on my shoes, checked my make up, grabbed my phone and satchel, and headed downstairs, where Dad and Troye seemed to be having a light conversation. Dad looked very calm and I felt relieved immediately. Mom came over to me and squeezed my shoulders."Have fun okay?" She smiled. "Be back by eleven though."
"I thought you said ten?" I asked.
"It's your first date. We can make an exception." She said. "Take care okay, baby girl?"
"Don't worry mom. I'll be just fine." I smiled.
Troye and Dad stopped conversing when the noticed my presence. Troye flashed me a breathtaking smile. He was wearing a grey V-neck with jeans. His hair fell on his forehead, giving him an adorable look.
"Hi." He greeted me.
"Hi Troye." I felt my knees go all wobbly.
"You ready to go?" He asked, and I looked at Dad, who gave me a nod and smiled.
"Yep." I said and walked out with him after hugging dad and whispering a thank you in his ear.
"You look beautiful." Troye said as we walked towards his car.
"I'm wearing shorts and a t-shirt." I deadpanned.
"Exactly." He smiled, taking my hand in his own, and a blush ignited on my face.
"Where are we going?" I asked once we were seated in the car, trying to change the topic.
"You'll see." Troye said, and I groaned.
"You love doing this, don't you?" I rolled my eyes.
"Well of course. You're cute when you're annoyed." He said, causing my heart to erupt with joy, which I tried hard to ignore.
A few minutes later we were parked in front of Allison's house, and I shot him a confused look. He gave me a smile, and got out of the car.
"Why are we at Allison's house?" I asked.
