I am finally back with another chapter. I hope you enjoy.

She was kind and stubborn and Cadimus was determined to work out a plan to get her the hell out of here before Abeloth came and passed judgement and executed both her and Tyler.

The way she had grabbed his hand insisting he be healed first... Cadimus shook his head as he carried Airne down the dimly lit hallways.

"What do you think of that little redhead?" a voice from down the hall.

"Not hard on the eyes," the answer.

"I was thinking I'd go a round with her when they bring her back."

"If you touch her I'll kill you," Tyler's voice.

"Shut up Pluman, you don't get a say in the matter."

Despite the relaxing effect of the potion Airne had stiffened in his arms.

Cadimus arms tightened reflexively around her. He touched the quartz in his pocket and teleported them to the door of his cousins room.

"What happened? Where are we?" Airne asked, disoriented by the quick change in location.

"Away from them," Cadimus answered and knocked on the door with the back of his knuckles.

The door opened revealing a petite dark haired dragon with skin so pale you could almost see the veins beneath its delicate surface.

Edan blinked at him ones with deep sapphire eyes

He saw her recognize him and his own eyes widened.

How does she know who I am? How can she recognize me like...this?

"I am sorry my lady Edan, my name is Jacob, I was wondering if I could beg your assistance."

Edan's head tilted to the side curiously. She was only a few months from her eighteenth birthday and with that expression on her face she looked so much younger.

"Jacob...come in."

"Thank you," he pushed into the room.

"You have a Phoenix in your arms," she stated as if he might not be aware.

"The dungeon is not safe for her."

"I don't believe Dungeons are intended to be safe."

In his arms Airne snorted and when he looked down he almost saw a hint of a smile on her lips at her cousins obvious statement.

"Not safe for her as a female."

"As a woman," Airne corrected and Cadimus frowned.

"Does anyone else know you are bringing her up here?" Edan asked

Cadimus shifted.

"You will get in trouble for this," Edan said pointedly.

"I know."

"Hmmm..." Edan seemed to consider. "Alright then, let her down on my bed. She clearly needs it more than I do."

"Edan-"

"Lady Edan, if you please, and I don't believe household staff are allowed to order around those of higher rank," Edan walked over to the bed fluffing up the pillow for Airne. She gave him a look that was half teasing, half a challenge for him to deny what she had said.

Cadimus bit his tongue and lay Airne down gently on the bed.

"How long will she be staying here?"

"Just till, I can convince the danger to go somewhere else."
