"W-where are you taking me?"

I almost laughed at how nervous Chantel sounded. I just gave her a firm look as I continued to hold her wrist. I don't know where I got the confidence to just drag her out from there by holding her wrist, all I remembered is what Anne and I talked about earlier.

I need to talk to her or I will lose it.

I thought of bringing her inside my room to have our privacy but Chantel suddenly stopped walking. She removed her wrist from my grip and gave me an annoying glare that I think was my last straw.

I was right...she's clearly not interested. I let out a shaky breath and pursed my lips as I looked at her with disappointment.

"Alright, I get it now, I'll get out of your hair...or whatever."

I turned around so she can't see how I am on the edge of crying, why am I being so dramatic all of a sudden? There are a lot of other girls here, why can't I just stay away from her?

"Please, don't leave."

The way Chantel said it was so delicate that I have to turn around and gave her a sympathetic look.

"The way I have been treating you in the past few days was such an idiotic move, and I'm truly sorry if I made it that way for way too long. It's because they missed out to tell you some important details."

What she said just piqued my interest so I walked a little close to where she stood.

"Angel, we used to be...lovers, and the way you looked at me that day did a thing to me. I had to burn the ship, Ange, I am sorry."

Chantel was starting to cry so I offered her a hug. "I knew something was missing, but I am sorry if I can't remember-"

"Hey, don't blame yourself. We can figure this out, okay?"

I nodded as I sank my head deeper beneath her neck. I felt her relax which made me feel the same way too.

Now, all I need to do is to try to remember. Should I even consider it past when everything new just happened a few days back?

"Or maybe you should just focus on what is happening now."

"Did I say it out loud?" I muttered that making my lips accidentally brush the side of her neck.

Chantel instantly removed herself from the hug, I raised an eyebrow at her sudden nervousness. Is she always this nervous around me?

"What's the matter?" I played cool but it's clear that Chantel wasn't in the right state of mind right now. I stood closer and nudged her shoulder, she finally went back to reality but what she did after really took me off guard.

Chantel swiftly snaked her hand around my waist while the other one went to position itself at the side of my neck. Chantel gave me a look that I can obviously tell, and with one move, her lips were planted against mine.

She initiated the first move that started slow until we reached the point where we are panting against each other's mouths.

I rested my hand against her chest to stop it from going further, and mind that we are in public. I blissfully rested my head against her chest where I heard how fast her heart was pumping.

"It's funny how even though I lost most of my memories, I still found my way back to you."

I heard Chantel's breath hitch which made me break our closeness to each other to see her face.

"How...how did you know that phrase?"

I tilted my head in confusion. "It's a phrase I got from my mother, I memorized it from the back of the pendant she gave me, look."

As if I was expecting to hold something around my neck, my hand only reached for air. "Where is my pendant?"

I never removed it...

"Angel, calm down. I told you earlier, they left some important details."

Chantel's soothing voice urged me to calm down and let her lead me somewhere. I realized that she was taking me back to my room which I disagreed with, I can't let her out of my sight.

"Don't leave me alone here."

"I won't, you just need to rest for a while." Chantel insisted.

"I don't want to!"

An excruciating pain shot through my brain that made me drop to my knees. I started to hear a high-pitched sound and I pressed my palms against my ears to stop it.

"Make it stop!"

"HELP!"

The pain was so painful that made me lie down on the cold ground. I felt Chantel caressing my head as she called for help. The pain was still there but I managed to raise my hand to land it on Chantel's face.

"No, no, no, stay with me."

"I-It hurts."

I kept on fighting the pain until my body couldn't take it anymore.

"I love you...please don't leave me."
