Chapter 11
Hope was sitting on the log leaning her head against Dylan's shoulders. He was slowly massaging her hand, as she stared into the fire. She looked around to see Skye and Tyler talking about something serious. She had her arms crossed, which was a habit she did when she was arguing with someone. Mason of course was going on and on about something. She glanced over to see what Madison and Liam were doing, instead she was looking right into Liams eyes, their eyes stayed on each others for a few seconds. He was watching them staring intently. She felt Dylan's body shift and he leaned over.
"Go on a walk with me, Blondie." He whispered. She could feel his breath on the back of her neck. She tore her gaze away from Liam looking up at Dylan. He got up and took her hand in his. The sun was almost setting leaving a swarm of bright oranges and pinks. When she still felt his hand in hers it sent tingles down her spine. She didn't even realize that Dylan had stopped walking and was looking at her.
"Damn it Hope." She looked up at him confused. He had a flirtatious look on his face and his eyes held an unknown mystery. She pulled her eyebrows together trying to figure out what he was trying to say.
"Your eyes..." She quickly pulled her hands out of his covering them.
"Oh my gosh did something smear? What's wrong?" Silence filled the air and she felt Dylan's hands hold onto hers, gently bringing them down.
"Don't hide them, they're beautiful. They look darker today." She looked up at him, a blush started to make its way across her cheeks, but in that moment she didn't care. "You're beautiful." He continued; stepping closer. She looked up into his darting eyes and was surprised that they looked like the midwinter sky at night. He leaned down to her and wrapped his arms around her waist.
In the distance there was a scream. Hope quickly turned her head to see Liam chasing Madison. She heard Dylan breathe out and when she looked at him he smiled at her showing no expression in his eyes. She got out of his grip and slowly walked towards the water. Her feet slightly touching the ice-cold sand. She heard Dylan come up behind her and smiled, knowing that he was there. His arms slipped around her and she leaned back against his chest. She closed her eyes listening to his strong heartbeat.
She hadn't realized how much time had passed by but she felt Dylan tug at her hand lightly.
"We should get back" She nodded her head and with that they made their way back.

As they got back she could feel Liam's eyes on them. She felt uncomfortable, and decided to ignore him. It would be the best thing to do for everyone's sake. She didn't need any problems this summer. From the corner of her eye she could see Liam getting up and make his way towards her.
"Can we talk?" He asked her in a low voice,
" I don't think that's such a good idea Liam.."
"Just for a little while. Please Hope." She looked at him, his eyes pleading.
"I'd rather not." She told him coldly. He was taken aback. She could see anger flash in his eyes. He opened his mouth about to say something but decided not to. Hope watched as he walked to Madison and grabbed her arm. "We're leaving" He said loud enough for her to hear. She felt her heart skip a beat and she quickly looked down at the ground. She was lost in thought when she felt Dylan sit next to her. She turned her head to him and smiled.
"I'm kind of tired do you think you can take me home?" Dylan nodded. Hope looked over at Skye and smiled at her. Skye waved and looked at the ground. Something's wrong. She thought to herself, but she kept quiet and went to the car.
They pulled up into her driveway and were about to say bye when she saw that Dylan had already gotten out and opened her door. She smiled and got out. They slowly made their way up to the door.
"Goodnight Blondie." He said while cupping her face with his hands. She closed her eyes and allowed him to tilt her head towards him. Again she felt his lips lightly brush against her forehead. He let go and started walking back to his car. As he started to drive off she gave him a small wave.
She went into her room and sat down on her bed not wanting to do anything. Was there something wrong with her? Did he not want to kiss her? She let out a breath as she leaned back. She stared up into the ceiling and fell asleep, not even caring that she was still wearing her dress.
