CHAPTER 35

Get away.

The whole drive I was silent. Same with him. The deafening silence filled inside the car. The feeling was like a deja vu. Everytime I was with him, I get so nervous, same feelings years ago. I was also run out of words in front of him.

I heard him cleared his throat.

"I'll just instruct my guards to pull your car tomorrow." He said, I just nodded.

"Thanks." I said.

It's Ice. I immediately answered the call.

"May susundo na sayo-" I cut him off

"Wag na. I'm already on my way home. Thanks, Ice."

Ano- I mean kaninong sasakyan?"

"Jai." I said,

"O-okay. Enjoy. You're welcome, Rain! Bye." Gago talaga 'to eh!

"You're close with him." Jai commented.

"He's my savior when everything fell." I said, then I saw how he tightened his grip to the steering wheel. Seconds passed, I realized that I regret saying those words. Argh!

It took seconds of silence and then I heard him cleared his throat.

"Are you still on therapy?" He asked, I glanced at him for seconds.

"Yeah."

That was quite awkward. I could feel everything was wrong. Trust the process.

"I'll just pay for the gas, if ever you need. I knew not everything is free today." I said, trying to abort this kind of awkwardness.

"Then you'll commute for tomorrow?" He asked, still focused on driving. I saw the entrance of the city, siguro nasa city proper na kami.

"Probably."

"Then, I'll just drive you back." He said, then cleared his throat, as if he was trying his luck.

"I mean, your car needs to get transported again. It would be done tomorrow, but not instantly." He defensively said.

"I'll just commute. Thanks." I said. Then he just nodded.
