An: 104 days of summer vacation and- who the heck has that long of a summer?? Anyway it's almost over so better make the most of it!
................

"Ok, I should probably get going-"

"No not yet!" Adi pulled Maddi back down into her chair. "You know what comes next!"

"Exactly, I don't want to-" Adi did puppy-dog eyes. "No don't-ughhhhh fine, I'll stay." Maddi side-hugged Adi.

"Wait, what comes next?" Lauren's asked. He saw his on-stage persona on stage left.

[LAURENS]
I may not live to see our glory.

"Oh..." herc breathed. Pretty much everyone got it after that.

[ELIZA]
Alexander? There's a letter for you from
South Carolina.

"Fun fact: in the original version of this song, Eliza doesn't specify it's from South Carolina. Alex just ASSUMES it's from John. Almost wish it had stayed that way." Maddi sniffled while pulling out some tissues from her bag.

[LAURENS]
But I will gladly join the fight.

[HAMILTON]
It's from John Laurens.
I'll read it later.

[ELIZA]
No. It's not.

"My God..." Thomas whispers.

[LAURENS]
And when our children tell our story.

[HAMILTON]
Will you read it?

[LAURENS]
They'll tell the story of tonight.

[ELIZA]
"On Tuesday the 27th, Lieutenant Colonel
John Laurens was killed in a gunfight
against British troops in South Carolina
These troops had not yet received word
from Yorktown that the war was over.
He's buried here until his family
can send for his remains.
As you may know, Lieutenant Colonel
Laurens was engaged in recruiting 3,000
men for the first all black military
regiment. The surving member of this
regiment have been returned to their
masters."

"So. Not. Fair!" Adi said, sniffling. She blew her nose into the tissue maddi gave her.

"W-what?" Lauren's froze in shock. My men... I promised them freedom...

[LAURENS]
Tomorrow there'll be more of us...

[ELIZA]
Alexander. Are you alright?

[HAMILTON]
I have so much work to do

"Oh pops.." Phillip and many others were overcome with sympathy.

The hamilsquad group hug. Maddi sadly had to make her exit. More smaller stuff happened, but the author had hit a huge writing roadblock, so full in any other character interactions you want.

"Aaaaand you are given zero time to mourn, because just as you realize that herc and Laf were up on the balcony, reading THEIR letters, burr comes in with the next song...

An: sorry this took so long! Idk why but my favorite songs are always the ones I have the most trouble with. Anyway, the next song might also take me a while just because it is a way longer song. But anyway, STICK WITH US CAUSE WE ARE GONNA WATCH IT ALL!
