The next morning Belly and Steve went to school together, with no Nancy, after what happened the other night, Steve needed some time to think over what to say to her

Getting out of Steve's car Belly spotted Will getting out of another car and she immediately approached him, when she saw some people's gaze on him, she threw her arm across his shoulder and started making small talk to distract him from the look some of the students were giving him, he also felt somewhat comfortable in her arms, both having an unexplainable connection

Walking inside the hallway she saw Max walking in her direction, she held up her hand to wave at her when she suddenly Lucas came into view, both of them really being invested in the conversation they were having, she put her hand down and avoided Max's eyes

"I'll see you later" she said to Will before walking towards her own locker when Max waved at her, she pretended not to notice this making Max awkwardly scratch the back of her head

In her first class of the day, Mr.Clarke's class, he was explaining Phineas Gage's case, how he miraculously survived

In the middle of a serious explanation, suddenly the door opened and Dustin entered, panting, while he held some weird box, he had on the day of Halloween, he apologized quickly before taking his place, Belly was staring at him the entire time until he finally took his place when Mr Clarke started teaching again

"Dustin!" Mr Clarke spoke when he caught the boy talking to the 3 guys around him, Will took this opportunity to turn back to Belly and mouth 'AV club' inviting her as Belly never saw any of them invite Max so she decided she'd show up

Now it was the recess, all of them in the AV room, which Mike wasn't very happy about, Belly wasn't so happy either, after seeing Max there, and now they both were standing next to each other

Dustin opened his box to reveal, a reptile like creature, it was slimey Belly grossed out at the sight, as soon as she looked at the creature, she put a hand out and softly pushed Max back and her hand over Max's lower body in a protective manner

"His name is d'Artagnan cute right?" he said as he took that creature into his hands

"What the hell" Belly mumbled

"d'Artagnan?" Mike asked Max saw how Belly didn't move her hand from where it was which made her smile

"Dart for short" Dustin said smiling widely

"And he was is your trash?" Max asked from behind 

"Foraging for food" Dustin shrugged as he gave Max a look before saying "You wanna hold him?"

"No" Max shook her head rapidly when Dustin didn't listen

"Hey, she said no" Belly spoke up and now the d'Artagnan or Dart was in her palm "God he's slimy" She said as he slid him to Lucas him saying some things about him before passing him to Mike

"What is he?" he asked inspecting dart closely

"My question exactly" Dustin said with a huge smile, he put some books on the table before explaining how he's not any  pollywog

"Do you guys see that?" Mike asked making Belly take a closer look

"Something is moving inside of him" She pulled a lamp and focused it on him when he suddenly screeched, quickly moving when Dustin put a hand down the table to catch him 

"It's okay it's okay I got you little guy" Dustin mumbled to him "I know you don't like that" he said before looking back at the group "Also reptiles are cold blooded right, ectothermic right? They love heat, sun, but dart hates it, it hurts him"

"So if he's not any pollywog or reptile..." Lucas asked

"Then I've discovered a new species" Dustin exclaimed, but Belly felt weird, like something was wrong, she couldn't explain it but this creature gave her bad vibes

She looked over at Will, who looked scared staring at the creature in Dustin's hands, before she could ask him what's wrong the bell rang suddenly startling them, everybody went out Belly approached Will, worried about the guy

"Will are you okay? You seemed scared back there" she asked walking beside him

"Yeah, I am okay" he spoke Belly wasn't so convinced of his response but she didn't wanna push the guy to tell her what's up as he got lost in his own thoughts

They separated going their own way to spend their schools day, all of them decided to meet with Mr Clarke after school to show him d'Artagnan, nearing the classroom she didn't see Will anywhere so she went out and found the guy by the lockers

"Hey Will, c'mon, everybody's going to show that dart to Mr Clarke" she approached the guy when she saw him not move and just stare at her, scared "What's wrong?" she asked when suddenly Mike pushed past her

"It's about dart" he started after hearing that she started running towards the class making Mike and Will follow

She barged inside the classroom and saw Dustin just about to open the box and show it to Mr Clarke, she ran towards them and grabbed the box before walking back

"Sorry, Mr Clarke it was just a stupid prank" she said walking towards the two guys by the door when she heard Dustin and Lucas tell at her
