That night they all crashed the Wheeler’s basement again, the day had been too long for everyone, so they all decided they’d take turns watching over Max, who was forced to blast Kate Bush in her ears

“Dustin?” Belly opened her eyes when she heard Nancy’s voice “Where is she?” Belly looked around the whole place, she stood up and started walking looking for Max, stressed out

Belly entered the kitchen where Mrs.Wheeler was cooking and Mr.Wheeler was flipping through a newspaper, Belly rushed forward to see Max’s head, as she looked back and saw Nancy, both sighing in relief, Belly left Nancy there, to go sit beside the ginger

“Hi” she said as Max took off the headphones

“Hi” Max said

“You okay?” she asked leaning forward to face Holly  

“Yeah” Max replied

“Such a poopy answer” she said looking over at the youngest Wheeler

“And that was such a poopy question” Max replied smiling at Belly “Just couldn’t sleep, but Holly let me borrow some of her crayons” she said, as Holly hummed

“Is this… what you saw?”Belly said, picking up one sheet of paper “This Vecna’s reddy world?”

“Yeah, it’s supposed to be, I thought it’d be easier to draw it than to explain” Belly nodded examining the drawing as she felt like, she’s seen that somewhere before, just then Nancy and Dustin joined them

“Are they…” Belly picked up another paper

“Yes, it was like they were on a display, then there was this red fog everywhere, it was like a dream” Max explained “A nightmare” she added

“Any chance this guy is trying to just…scare you?” Belly asked

“With Billy yeah. But when i made it here, I dunno, something was different, like he was surprised, like… he didn’t want me there”

“Maybe you infiltrated his mind” Dustin said “He invaded your mind right? Is that a big leap to suggest you somehow wound up his?” Dustin estimated

“Like Freddie Krueger’s boil room?”  Belly asked with furrowed eyebrows earning a nod from the guy

“Freddie Krueger?” Holly asked 

“He’s a burned up guy, razors for fingers and all” Belly said bluntly and excitedly, as Max hit her elbow with her own “Ow” she said “Oh, it’s fictional, not real at all” Belly tried reassuring the girl

“Just think about it, what if you opened a back door to Vecna’s world?” Dustin continued “Maybe the answer we’re looking for, is somewhere in this incredibly vague, drawing” he picked up a paper “God, we need Will”

“No shit, but i tried them again this morning and it’s the same busy signal” Max informed as Belly observed Nancy looking at a particular drawing

“Is this a window?” Nancy asked Max

“Yeah” she replied
