'I want a new song.' I told Lotan that afternoon. We were lying on his bed, half-covered by the sheets but otherwise naked. I lay on my side, stroking the hairs on his chest while he stroked the hairs on my head, which was resting on his shoulder. There I could smell the sweet, sweaty scent of his neck. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
'What you say to me, baby?' Lotan asked dreamily.
'I want you to write me a new song. 'The Ballerina' isn't really mine anymore.'
'Is for you.' he said firmly. 'Is only ever for you, baby. I'm in love with you when I wrote, and I wrote because I'm in love with you.'
I lifted my head to look him in the eye.
'You barely even knew me when you wrote it.' I said. Was Lotan simply charming me, filling my head with empty compliments, or had he really fallen in love with me so quickly?
When his brown eyes shimmered and he simply said, 'I know,' I knew he was telling the truth. How could I have doubted this man? He was as pure and innocent as snowflakes falling on Christmas morning.
I shivered when his fingers made the back of my neck tingle.
'Okay. I trust you, Lotan. But you still ruined 'The Ballerina' for me when you shared it with Faith.'
The handsome man sighed and tried to speak, but I quickly hushed him. 'Ssh, ssh, don't worry, my love, I'm not cross. I'm just sad that our song isn't 'our song' anymore. But I know you can write me another one that's just as beautiful. So,' I smiled a little, 'write me a brand new song, that you will never, ever, ever play for anyone else - or dance to with anyone else. I want one that's just for my ears, forever. Please.'
Still a little mournful, Lotan nodded.
'Okay.' he said, letting his body relax again. 'Okay, my love. I write for you the most beautiful song you ever hear, because you are the most beautiful woman I ever see. You are more beautiful than any woman in the whole wide world.'
I smiled widely, which felt so, so nice after frowning for so long.
'Really?'
Those rich, round eyes looked over my hair, face, neck, shoulders, body, all the way down to the sheets, smiling too.
'Yes, yes, Olivia. And our new song, I will never, er, video, or, er, or writing on paper, so the song is in my head only and I play only for you. This is good?'
'Oh, yes.' I exhaled, almost too pleased now. The contentment was expanding so quickly within me that I needed to release it, but at the same time I didn't want to let it go! I hardly blinked so as not to miss a second of this sublime moment.
'I love you, Lotan.' I whispered after a while, grazing his jawline with my fingertips. 'You're perfect. I can't believe I ever thought you were a bastard!'
Lotan snorted.
'I am a bastard sometimes, I think. I was bastard to stay away from you all this seven weeks! I should come to your house and finded you, and tell you I love you very many much, even though I am very big bastard.'
I chuckled too.
'Don't worry about it, sweetheart. You're everything to me.'
'You are everything to me.' he murmured back. My smile grew, until he pressed his happy lips against mine. Our kiss escalated quickly and soon I was moaning because his mouth was slurping down my neck with such passion...
But when I kicked the sheets off us, Lotan lifted his head up and said, 'Olivia, I, I do not think we er, er, should making love again, right now.'
'Why not?' I moaned, clinging onto his body to keep it close. He stroked the hair out of my face.
'Because you are very tired, I think. You must sleeping now.'
'No, no, I'm not tired, baby.' I lied. He knew.
'Yes, if you please. I want you to sleeping now. Rest now, my beautiful love.'
'Why? Aren't you attracted to me?'
'Olivia!' he gasped as if the very idea was ridiculous to him. 'You are silly! You are my gorgeous, sexy, dear lady! I am attracted to you always. See? When I touch you here, is a waltz, and here, is concerto, and, nocturne is here, and here - oh, Olivia, - here is whole symphony for me!'
Lotan smiled down at my body again for a few long, quiet moments. Then he looked back into my starstruck eyes. Watching him intently, I said,
'Do you really hear all that music when you're with me, Lotan?'
'Ah, yes. You will make me very famous composer one day, my muse!'
I took a breath as deep as my smitten, tight lungs would allow.
'You're cruel.' I said. Lotan made a confused noise and frowned, so I slid my hands around his shoulders and explained, 'You say all these lovely things to me, but you won't let me make love to you! That's cruel!'
He relaxed when he realised I was half-teasing.
'Is good for you, Olivia. You did not sleeping for a long time, this weeks! You are tired. And I don't want to make you more tireder. Come, I rest with you.'
'Really?'
'Yes. I watch your beautiful face sleeping.'
After one more kiss Lotan slowly moved off me, and pulled me into an embrace which was so warm, so inviting, that I fell asleep easily.
