SHE WAS LOSING HOPE. Valouise was losing her hope and was ready to let herself die in the hand of Ephilia. She was slowly losing her breath and her sight was starting to turn dark. But before she could notice, Bylur had caught Ephilia on the neck and jerked her off.
“No one's allowed to hurt her, Ephilia…” Bylur growled like a mad lion. His eyes turned blue and lit up in the dark. Bylur's grip on her neck tightened but instead of fearing him, the devil just smiled at him sadistically.
“I'll come back to take her soul.” Ephilia’s ominous vow before turning into ashes and completely vanished.
When Bylur turned to check on Valouise, Colden was with her but when Colden tried to hold her, she flinched and pulled herself away from him. Bylur immediately went near them.
“Val…” tawag n'ya rito.
Bylur went closer and took her into his arms. Agad na kinarga mi Bylur sa mga bisig n’ya ang nanghihinang dalaga.
“She doesn't need you, Colden.” malamig na sambit ni Bylur sa kapatid. Colden’s eyes darkened.
“Valouise might not want me but Galina does.” Colden hissed and left.
After his brother left, Bylur looked at Valouise who looked so drained. Ephilia must have taken a lot of her energy.
“Let's go home.” Bylur softly whispered.
Agad na inuwi ni Bylur sa bahay niya si Valouise. Marahan niyang inilapag ito sa kama. She was awake but she was completely drained and was having a hard time gaining strength.
“You could sleep peacefully now that I'm here with you, Val.” Bylur softly whispered and kissed her forehead.
“Kukuha lang ako ng tuwalya at mainit na tubig.” paalam nito at nang paalis na siya ay pinigilan siya ni Valouise. Valouise held his wrist and tiredly looked at him.
“Stay please.” Agad namang umupo si Bylur sa tabi nito. Walang nagsalita at hinayaan lang ni Bylur na makatulog ang dalaga. Dahan-dahang hinahaplos ni Bylur ang buhok nito habang nakatitig lang sa mukha ng dalaga, at ilang minuto pa lang ay nakatulog na ito.
Isang mapait na ngiti ang gumuhit sa labi ni Bylur habang nakatitig kay Valouise. Nakaramdam siya ng kirot nang maalalang tinawag ng dalaga si Colden, natatakot siya na baka dumating ang araw na mas pipiliin ni Valouise si Colden kaysa sa kaniya.
Ever since, he had been afraid of losing Valouise because of Colden. The look of love in Colden's eyes while looking at Valouise makes Bylur worry that Valouise might awaken Galina's feelings. Valouise is Galina and he knows that a part of Galina is still alive inside her. And that truth is what he fears. Yes, he is the villain of their love story. Bylur is the beast that ruined the relationship of Galina and Colden. Ironically, it pains him to be in that kind of situation. He did for love— for love.

When the morning came, Bylur took care of their breakfast and sipped on his coffee then went up to wake her up.
Shd was still sound asleep when Bylur went to the room. He caressed her hair and softly whispered, “Valouise, wake up. Let's have breakfast.”
Valouise just groaned. Bylur chuckled and pinched her cheek softly.
“Come on. It's almost eight.”
Valouise then turned and slowly opened her eyes. Doon lang niya napagtantong nasa bahay siya ulit ni Bylur. Sa gulat ay hinablot nya ang kumot at tinago ang mukha.
“H-Hey! Good morning…” she said in her bedroom voice. Bylur laughed at her reaction and shook his head.
“Bangon na. Naghanda ako ng makakain.” Sambit nito.
