Literal seconds after Y/N had made his departure, the first of the heroes called were approaching the front door cautiously.
They were moving much slower than normal due to the panicked nature of the call - a quirk user with an unknown power could cause havoc if they went in guns blazing.
Police cars were pulling onto the scene as well, jam-packed full of armed officers.
Civilians were blocked from entering the area, and the glass windows were covered up with plastic screens to stop the public seeing the horror inside.
The top few heroes weren't there - they had other matters to attend to. So the heroes currently entering the building were instead led by Pro Hero No.7, Kamui Woods.
The wooden man was leading a small group of lower ranked heroes into the cafe.
They burst in through the door as one, not really expecting a fight. They'd seen the scene in the cafe from outside, and after a few minutes of making sure there were no traps or harmful substances inside, they entered.
Inside was even worse than outside. The heavy smell of metal hung in the air, and the normally relaxing cafe looked like a torture chamber.
Most of the tables were as they were, but the main parts were the five grim corpses scattered across the room.
They looked like they'd been savaged by some sort of animal, with slashes and deep cuts. Then again, it could've been done by a knife or other sharp object.
Kamui approached one of the bodies, touching the pool of dried liquid around it.
His hand came back sticky with blood.
The wooden man opened his mouth to call over one of his team, the tang of metal strong in the air. "Can you go outside and tell the rest of the police squad that it's clear? We need forensics on this."
The lower ranked hero nodded obediently and exited.
Meanwhile, the rest of the squad had finished clearing the entire building, coming back empty handed. "No sign of whoever caused this."
"Okay. Stay in here in case you're needed, just don't touch any bodies. I'm going to speak with someone..." Kamui left the cafe, drawing in a deep breath of fresh air.
"Find anything?" That was the police inspector assigned to this case. Quite a high ranking person, actually. The police weren't messing around this time.
Kamui leaned in close. "Nothing. But what was it that was said on the radio?"
The inspector frowned. "It was our man calling for reinforcements. Then after the radio was taken away, and another voice spoke who we assume caused the murders."
The police officer tapped his chin as he tried to remember what was said. "We have it down noted somewhere, but the main thing is we think it was said by the same person the public is calling the Angel of Death."
Kamui moved so he wasn't so close. "I thought he was a vigilante?"
"In all honesty, I thought that too. But I think he's been killing for a long time before... It's just a theory, but he is - if it even is a he - way too experienced. There's barely any traces of how they died at these scenes, and he leaves well before any of us get here."
"But I am worried." The police inspector gestured around him at the many officers on site. "The reason why there's so many of us here is because this person's attacks are getting more and more public. It may well have been our team that initiated the fight, but I think the person enjoys the publicity. And both the press and the public are eating this shit up."

When that was happening, Y/N was just reaching his house. He'd had to avoid what seemed like hundreds of cop cars on the way home, sticking to the darker alleys and the rooftops.
He let himself in, pissed that he hadn't gotten any money from his outing. "And the police are probably gonna start investigating it more."
Y/N stripped off his hoodie and tracksuit, tossing them in his bin. They were covered in dried blood that the teen boy couldn't be bothered to clean off.
He crossed off the Ingenium contract with a red marker, putting a sad face below it. Police Trap.
Y/N sighed. There was still over a week till the sports festival - the only thing he was looking forward to.
The teen smiled to himself at the thought of finally being noticed, even though it would be for a different thing to what he originally thought.
"Aaaaaa I'm bored as fuck. Probably should just order takeaway, maybe play some video games. Splatoon maybe? I heard the third game in that series is coming out."
Then Y/N remembered that he didn't own any gaming consoles, just his phone and a laptop he hardly used.
"I'll just buy one some other time..."
