As Tony's words hung in the air, everyone's gaze landed on him, their expressions of disbelief and confusion apparent on all their faces. The room remained quiet for a while, a very sinister atmosphere settling upon everyone as they all struggled to take in what Tony had just said.
"W-what do you mean? Ultron can't be back, he's gone!" Wanda was the first to break the eerie silence, her voice laced with shock and concern. Heads turned to her as she spoke.
"Yeah, I know," Tony said, "but—"
"No," Wanda interrupted, shaking her head as she stood up from her chair to leave with Diana. Her eyes were fixed on Tony, her face etched with a mix of fear and determination.
"Wand—" Sam tried to call after her, but Wanda didn't hesitate. She yelled back at him, "No!"
Natasha stepped in, apologetically trying to calm the situation. "Let her be for now. I'll go check on her in a bit. This just opened up a whole can of worms for her."
Sam nodded, thankful for the semi-explanation. The room fell silent once again, this time filled with the weight of uncertainty.
"Alright, what do we do now, Stark?" Steve asked, his voice firm but laced with concern.
Tony let out a heavy sigh before responding. "Well, I suppose we need to figure out what's going on and how to stop it."
Yelena's voice broke the silence, her tone laced with confusion. "Newcomers here. Who is Ultron and why is everyone shitting their pants over them?"
"Incredibly smart robot that was invented by Mr. Stark that turned evil," Peter said, his eyes lighting up with excitement. "So cool," he added, whispering under his breath.
"I'm sorry, what?" Kate asked, her expression a mix of confusion and concern. She looked around the room, wondering if everyone was okay with the fact that they were discussing an evil robot in a casual tone.
"Look, it was a mistake," Tony said, his voice laced with frustration. "Ultron destroyed everything in his path. He's back and we need to stop him."
"Can you try and track where he is operating?" Rhodey asked, his voice firm.
Tony scoffed. "The guy is on the internet. He can ping his location from any signal tower or make it bounce between multiple towers at once. No, I can't just track him from where he is operating."
Just then, Natasha stood up from her chair, her eyes fixed on Tony. "But you can build something that can," she repeated, her voice firm. "I'm off to check on Wanda and I better hear some sort of plan when I get back."
The room fell silent once again, the tension palpable as the Avengers struggled to come to terms with the situation. Tony's words hung in the air, a reminder that they were all in for a long and difficult fight ahead.
In Wanda's room:
Natasha knocked on Wanda's door, and when she heard her wife's voice, she opened the door and smiled. Wanda was cuddled up on the couch, with a sleeping Diana lying on top of her. Natasha quietly made her way to them and lay down beside Wanda.
"You alright, baby?" Natasha asked, her voice soft and gentle.
"I honestly don't get it," Wanda replied, her voice laced with confusion. "I thought he was gone. After what happened with Pietro and Sokovia as a whole, I just... I don't know."
Natasha nodded sympathetically. "I'm sorry, baby. The team is going to find a way to bring him down for good, I promise."
Wanda turned her head to look at Natasha, her eyes searching for reassurance. "You all are going to go after him, aren't you?"
