Wanda paced around her room, her thoughts racing with frustration and fear. She had just discovered that Maria Hill was sabotaging her missions, trying to get her fired. The wine in her glass seemed to be the only thing that could calm her nerves.

"I wanna say she's gaslighting me or she's just a liar. Doesn't really matter, either way, she's a sociopath who I can't trust at all and who is after my job."

Natasha sat on the bed, watching Wanda with a concerned expression. When Wanda finally stopped pacing and sat down beside her, Natasha wrapped her arms around her shoulders.

"You're not going anywhere," she said softly.

Wanda took the wine from Natasha's glass and finished it in one gulp. She turned to Natasha, her eyes pleading.

"I need you to transfer Maria out of my division."

Natasha's gaze was firm but understanding. "I wish I could, but you know I can't get involved. Not with all the eyes on us right now."

Wanda let out a frustrated sigh. "But there has to be something we can do or someone else I can go to."

Natasha pours herself another glass of wine trying to find a solution.

"Sam is back in a month, right?" She trails off, thinking out loud.

"Yeah well, that's a month of looking over my shoulder during life and death situations!" Wanda counters. Natasha couldn't help but chuckle at Wanda.

Wanda sighed, running her hand through her hair in frustration. "She's clearly vindictive or worse!" Wanda blurted out, her voice rising with emotion.

"If we weren't doing this," she said, pointing between herself and Natasha.

"It wouldn't be like this forever." Natasha says, her expression softened as she tried to reason with Wanda.

"But look at us, Natasha," Wanda said, her voice cracking with emotion. The use of Natasha's name seemed to snap her back into focus, and she gazed at Wanda with a mixture of shock and frustration.

"You're practically on probation because of me," Wanda said, her voice laced with desperation, "and I can't file a complaint about a co-worker because of you!"

As Natasha's expression turned thoughtful, Wanda's words seemed to sink in. She stopped pacing, her eyes wide with a mix of emotions and panic.

"Oh my God, how did we get here?" she whispered, her voice trembling.

"How did we risk our careers like this?" The words seemed to hang in the air, heavy with regret.

"Why did you make me fall in love with you?" Wanda's voice cracked, and she took a step back, her eyes locked on Natasha's. The silence that followed was palpable, as if both women were holding their breath, letting the weight of their situation settle in.

"I didn't mean in love," Wanda stumbled, her eyes darting away from Natasha's, her voice trembling with vulnerability.

"But I meant - "

Natasha assured her, her voice soft and gentle, "It's okay."

Wanda's gaze faltered, but Natasha's words seemed to give her a sense of relief, and she nodded slightly.

"I feel the same way," Natasha said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Wanda's eyes dropped again, and she took a step back, her hands shaking slightly as she reached for her phone. Natasha's heart went out to her, and she felt a pang of regret for not being more clear about her feelings earlier.

"I'm gonna go now," Wanda said, her voice still trembling.

"It's your room," Natasha pointed out.

"Good point. Still, I'm just gonna –" As Wanda began to walk away, Natasha shook her head and chuckled.

"Stop," she said, her voice firm but gentle. Wanda's movements came to a halt but her body stayed glued in its position.

"Turn around, come back here," Natasha said, her voice filled with longing. Wanda took a deep breath and walked back to Natasha, her heart still racing from the conversation. As she reached Natasha's side, Wanda's eyes finally met hers, and they were filled with a mix of emotions - fear, uncertainty, and a glimmer of hope.

Natasha cupped both cheeks with her hands and leaned in slowly, placing a soft, gentle kiss on Wanda's lips. The kiss was like a breath of fresh air, filling them both with a sense of calm and reassurance. As their lips touched, Wanda felt a spark of electricity run through her body, and she knew that she was home.

The kiss deepened slowly, their lips moving in tandem as they savored the moment. Natasha's hands cradled Wanda's face, holding her close as they kissed. Wanda's hands wrapped around Natasha's waist, holding on tight as if she never wanted to let go.

As they broke apart for air, Wanda's eyes locked onto Natasha's, filled with emotion. "I will never let anything happen to you," Natasha whispered, her voice filled with conviction.

"We'll figure this out, just like we always do. I promise."

Wanda felt herself relax into Natasha's arms, the tension melting away as they stood there wrapped in each other's embrace. As they stood there, the air thick with emotion, Natasha couldn't help but think that Wanda was adorable when she was nervous. She smiled to herself.

Wanda's eyes sparkled with amusement as she asked, "You think I'm cute when I'm freaking out?"

Natasha nodded, her smile growing wider. "Yeah, I do," she admitted. Wanda laughed, a relieved sound, and playfully pushed Natasha back onto the bed.

As Natasha mocked Wanda's freak-out, laughing and joking, Wanda's expression turned serious. "I hate you," she said, her voice low and serious.

But Natasha's face lit up with a knowing smile. She knew that Wanda was just trying to be dramatic, and she wasn't buying it. "Oh, come on," she said, her voice playful. "You love me. You're just mad at me because I'm right."

Wanda huffed, but her expression faltered. She couldn't keep a straight face around Natasha, not when they were together like this. She rolled her eyes and shook her head, trying to maintain the illusion of seriousness.

But Natasha just laughed and pulled Wanda into a hug. "You're so cute when you're trying to be mad," she whispered, her voice tickling Wanda's ear.

Wanda sighed and leaned into the hug, her body relaxing into the comfort of Natasha's embrace. She knew that she was never going to be able to stay mad at Natasha for long.

"We're gonna go to work, keep our heads down and if anything happens, There's a cabin in Norway waiting," Natasha said, a mischievous glint in her eye.

Wanda smiled at her. "We'd run away together?" she asked, her voice filled with excitement.

"Oh, I was talking about me," Natasha said, feigning innocence.

"You're on your own." She pretended to zip her lips shut and throw away the key.

Wanda laughed and threw her pillow at Natasha. "Get out of my room!" she exclaimed.

"No, no," Natasha said, dodging the pillow. "I think I'll stay. See where this whole 'in love thing' goes."

Wanda rolled her eyes good-naturedly. "You're such a goofball," she said, playfully hitting Natasha on the arm.

Natasha grinned and kissed Wanda again. "Hey, someone's got to keep things interesting around here."
