Fallon smiled as she took her badge out of Sergio's hand and pinned it onto her shirt. Her one true dream has finally come true, all her hard work has paid off for this one moment.
She's finally a criminal investigator, a CI, a detective.
It's been her dream since she watched criminal minds at the ripe age of 8. Probably not best suited for a child to be watching, but hey she turned out fine!
Fallon shook Sergio's hand and smiled.
"Thank you so much sir, I appreciate it. And I don't mean to be a pain.. but wasn't I supposed to be trained by Cleo Atwood?" She inquired.
Remembering how much she had researched what her first day would be like, the woman knew her hiring investigator should be the one to train and teach her. She hadn't even gotten to meet Cleo Atwood — her hiring investigator — yet.
"Detective Atwood just didn't show today, she should be back soon though. For now, I guess you're stuck with me." He smiled, his thick mustache rising on his face as well.
Fallon smiled back, although disappointed, the woman knew how on brand it was in her life for things to not go according to plan.
The pair began to walk through the building, Sergio showing Fallon everything she would need to know. Soon, the man led her to the work area. She froze up when she saw all of her coworkers doing.. work.
Some were on computers, some were talking to others, and some were walking around or looking at their files. A smile crept onto the short haired woman's face.
"Let's go introduce you to everybody." The man said before raising his voice to get everybody's attention.
"Okay, everyone listen up!"
The entire offices chatter dimmed down almost instantly, the way everybody's eyes flocked to Sergio and then to Fallon almost scared her. She wanted to cower behind him like a child, but instead she took a breath and stood tall.
"This is Fallon Smith, she's the new hire that Atwood and I have been telling you all to prepare for. Make her feel at home and don't be too hard on her." Sergio said before turning to the woman, expecting her to introduce herself.
Everybody stood still, staring at Fallon as she stared back at them with blank eyes before realizing that it was her turn to speak.
"Oh! Hi everybody, I'm Fallon." She smiled and waved. Everybody smiled back at her, some people took the initiative to walk up to her and introduce themselves to her.
A short woman with auburn hair and brown eyes approached Fallon. She extended her hand with a warm smile.
"Hi, I'm Louisa Culler, everybody here just calls me Lou though." Lou smiled as her and Fallon shook hands.
"It's really nice to meet you—"
"I hope you're not annoying her already Lou." A tall, British man, said as he approached the pair. Fallon was a bit annoyed as he had interrupted her but she didn't say anything.
"Gotta look out for her Fallon, she'll talk your ear off." He joked, his accent almost making Fallon giggle.
Lou rolled her eyes and turned towards the man.
"Don't start with your bullshit already, she just got here!" She said with a laugh coming up her throat. The man extended his hand out to Fallon.
"I'm Alan, welcome to the team."
