Fallon aggressively banged on the door of her birth givers house, not giving a fuck if she wakes up the whole neighborhood.
"Open the goddamn door before I kick it down! I know you're in there!" Fallon screamed. She continued to use both of her closed fists to make as loud a noise as she could on the cold wooden door.
After what felt like forever, the door finally flew open and the woman was pulled into the house with the door slamming behind her.
"Do you know what time it is Fallon?!-" Lilian whisper yelled, as she stared down at her oldest daughter.
"What the fuck is wrong with you!" Fallons volume only raised higher, and so did the anger threatening to boil up into her throat.
"What the hell are you on about?!"
"Im talking about you telling my fucking 16 year old sister that her father is dead and leaving her to deal with that on her own instead of telling me first! You didn't even have the courtesy to let me know!"
"Oh please, Fiona is 16 she can handle-"
"Im not done speaking, so shut the fuck up and wait for me to finish talking."
"I don't know who you think you are, speaking to your own mother that way!"
"You are not my mother!" Fallon exclaimed, tears of anger were now streaming down her face and her entire body was shaking with adrenaline. The woman stared into the eyes of the woman who gave birth to her and felt nothing but hatred.
Lilian simply stared at Fallon with shock and hurt on her face, she was shocked that her daughter would ever say such a thing. Fallon simply maintained her stare of hatred.
While her [and Fiona's] relationship with their mother was always strained, they had never actually spoke their mind and told the truth about how they felt about each other.
Fallon had promised herself long ago that she'd never stoop so low as to say such hurtful things to the woman who held her im her stomach for 9 months, but here we are.
"You know what?" Fallons voice was now brittle and weak. Her volume had decreased immensely.
"Just.. text me all the details. The funeral date and time.. just text me. I cant do this." She said, turning around and quickly leaving the house, Lilian just stood there. She made no effort to go after her estranged daughter.
As Fallon got into her car, she sat there for a few moments to compose herself. The woman was feeling so many emotions at once, she might as well have been feeling none.
She had two options at the moment to keep her earth spinning on its axis. Throw Fiona to stay with a friend for a few days so she could go to work, in turn, being a horrible older sister to Fi. Or, stay home, therefore being a good big sister but a horrible employee at her new job.
She didn't wanna give Cleo another reason to disrespect her as a new detective.
She sighed and was about to begin driving before hearing her phone alert her to a new message. She opened it and saw a text from Lilian.
"the funeral is tomorrow, 4 pm. I'll send you the directions in the morning. I hope you know that he would very disappointed to hear the conversation that you and I just had, Fallon."
The woman's dried tears were refreshed with new ones as she began to silently cry. Putting the phone down and car into drive, she began the commute back home where she'd later figure out what her next moves were.

"Remember that time when Lilian sent him in our room to punish us for crying, but instead he played monopoly till it was our bedtime?" Fallon smiled, as she sat on her couch holding Fiona in her arms. The sisters have been in their living room reliving memories of their father.
