"I do not care what Sergio says to you, do not go view those bodies without me." Cleo warned, whispering with a smile on her face as to not give any red flags to passer byers.

Fallon simply stayed quiet, debating on whether or not she wanted to challenge Cleo Atwood.

"Why?" Fallon asked but to no avail as Cleo had already begun walking away. Sergio approached the younger woman and smiled before speaking.

"Fallon, Ive reviewed the progress you and Cleo have made on the case so far and I want you ladies to go ahead and go to the morgue and view the body." Sergio said, earning a hesitant nod from Fallon.

The man stared at her for a moment before leaning closer and whispering:

"If Cleo's giving you a hard time you can just go alone, she'll come around to you I promise." He pat her shoulder and walked away.

Fallon stood there debating her options.

She ultimately decided that it was unfair to let Ms Asshole hold her back, so she was going to go view those bodies.

The whole drive over Fallon questioned if she was doing something wrong. The woman simply couldn't understand why Cleo was being so hard on her.

After showing her badge to the mortician, she decided to view Jason's body first and honestly, Fallon felt a mixture of excitement and pure sadness.

She was working on her first case, viewing her first body — a moment she's dreamed of since childhood.

But she felt as though everything seemed to be going wrong.

While viewing his body, Fallon felt a little sick at the sight of him. He looked disgusting, his skin was gross and crummy. His face was a little bruised, with his lip badly busted.

This shows that there was probably a struggle, clearly it wasn't suicide, but the autopsy already cleared that up.

Fallon decided to go ahead and go view Madeline's body so she didn't have to stare at him any longer, walking into Madeline's section.

Madeline was a beautiful woman, even in death she was still angelic. How did Jason manage to bag her? Fallon had no clue. She actually looked so familiar as if Fallon had seen her before.

Madeline's hair was entirely black, her skin was fair but bruised especially around her neck, and Ofcourse the gunshot wound in the dead center of her chest.

The more Fallon studied the case, the more it started to stand out that it was most likely an abusive marriage that went horribly wrong, but it still begged the question — who killed Jason?

The more she stared at the corpse, the heavier her chest felt. She reached into her pocket and pulled out the necklace that she'd concluded belonged to Madeline.

Fallon frowned as she stared at Madeline and then back to the necklace in her hand.

"You didn't deserve what he did to you." She whispered, placing her hand on Madeline's shoulder, her cold skin feeling inanimate underneath the platinum blondes fingers.

The silence of the morgue was filled with loud and urgent footsteps, causing Fallon to turn around and feel her heart drop into her stomach.

Cleo.

The older woman approached Fallon, her facial expression almost scaring the blonde, but the younger women always reminded herself that she clearly had a soft spot for her. No matter how hard she tries to hide that.

"Why are you here? I told you not to view the body!" Cleo yelled, coming face to face with Fallon.

"You don't fucking listen Smith, ever! Get out, go back to the office or go home." The older woman shrieked, angrily staring at her younger partner. Fallons annoyance was starting to bubble over.
