- BRIELLE

chris was sitting on a bench, with his knee bouncing up and down. i could only see his side profile, but i could see his face was red with anger.

"chris we need to talk," i called out to him. his head snapped over at me and i saw his face harden. almsot like he was putting a wall up.

"brielle go back inside," chris told me as he looked away from me again.

i continued approacing him, timidly. "i'm not going inside until you talk to me."

chris scoffed and then looked up at me standing in front of me. "there's nothing more to say. i already know everything you're gonna say."

"but you don't," i told him softly as i reached out to grab his head. chris jerked it away and shook his head at me.

"i don't want to talk to you right now," chris says simply without making eye contact with me. if chris was any other guy, i would've left at the first sentence. unfourtunately for me, chris wasn't just any other guy.

i took a deep breath and shut my eyes. "you can't keep pushing me away."

"i can and i will." chris ran a hand through his hair and sighed. "now please leave me alone."

i chewed the inside of my cheek. "you don't get to act like this."

chris narrowed his eyes at me and leaned forward on the bench. "how am i acting?"

"you know exactly what you're doing," i said as i gave him a look while crossing my arms.

chris slapped his arms to his side and looked around. "i was sitting outside before you came out to bother me."

i glared at chris like my heart wasn't hurting from what he just said to me. "how am i acting brielle?"

i shook my head wordlessly and looked away from chris' face. i was starting to get frustrated. "see you can't even fucking tell me but you're trying to tell me what to do. leave me alone."

"if you don't want to talk then can i at least speak?" i asked chris as i pointed a finger to myself. chris shook his head.

"i don't really want to hear it if i'm being honest," chris responded as he shrugged carelessly. i bit my lip as i started to feel the emotions in my body rising.

"chris, you're being mean," i told chris. i saw hurt flash across his face but it was quickly replaced by anger.

"i'm being mean?" chris pointed towards himself and laughed. "what about you?"

i rolled my eyes and scoffed. "i'm not being mean. i'm trying to talk to you and you're fucking pushing me away."

"i was gonna talk to you tonight," chris' voice started to get harser with each word he spoke. "that was until you brought your new boy toy along."

"no fucking way," i looked away from chris as i laughed sarcastically. "don't tell me you're this worked up over ross."

chris stood up and i could see him clenching his jaw. clenching his words. "brielle i already told you once. i don't want to have this conversation."

chris turned and started to walk towards the waffle house next to the mini golfing place. "right now, i don't care about what you want. you've made it clear you don't care about me so i'm-"

"don't do that," chris spat at me without turning around to face me again.

i slapped my hands to my side and sighed in exasperation. i just needed him to listen to me. "don't do what? say what i need to say?"
