"Officers, thank you. It won't happen again, I can promise you that much" Laurel thanked the two officers who stood before her.
"Tell mr. Fisher the chief wants to set up a tea time when he gets back in town" The male officer requested to Laurel.
Laurel nodded. "Absolutely. Sorry again for all the trouble" she apologized once again. "Have a good night officers" Laurel opened the door, allowing the two officers to walk out. Once they were out she shut the door- turning to the group of teenager in front of her.
Melanie knew the face when her mother was mad and disappointed, she showed it a lot when Melanie did something. So she wasn't excepting any less from Laurel.
"How could you guys be so irresponsible?" Laurel questioned, making sure to spare a glance at everyone in the room. Most of them seemed to cower under her stare. Even Belly. But Steven and Melanie didn't seem too.
"Mom it wasn't a big deal. Alright?" Steven seemed to speak up-hoping to diffuse some of his mothers anger.
"Seriously. The cops were just looking to break up the bonfire"
"Not a big deal?" Laurel repeated.
"Yes" Steven nodded.
"I would getting picked up by the cops for underage drinking is a pretty big deal, Steven!" Laurel snapped back at her son.
Melanie inhaled lightly, detecting the smell of pot. She laughed lightly, making the attention fall onto her. "I see y'all smoked while we were gone" Laurel looked at her daughter in shock, realizing she was caught.
"What? Keep your voice down, Susannah's asleep on the couch" Laurel replied, trying her best not to admit to what they were doing.
"I'm wasn't yelling, but whatever you say" Melanie rolled her eyes, hoping somebody else would take over the situation.
"Just so you know, Laurel. I-I didn't drink tonight. I was the DD, I swear" Jeremiah informed Laurel, hoping to save himself from Laurels wrath.
Laurel didn't reply, only turning her attention to Conrad. "Your the oldest. What the hell has gotten into you" She then turned her attention to Belly. " and when did you leave the house without telling anybody? And what in the world are you wearing" Melanie's head whipped over to Belly. She had no clue she snuck out of the house. Belly met Melanie's gaze for a second before turning her attention back to Laurel.
Belly tugged cams jacket around her body a little more, feeling slightly insecure now that her mom pointed out her outfit in front of everyone. "It's Taylor's" She replied. "and I walked there"
