I am back and about to start a brand new story!I was so shocked by all the messages I received about my last story 'Hot Chocolate'. Compliments on my characters and storyline made me realise that I miss writing.
I debated on writing a sequel - but I don't think I'm ready to do that just yet. Maybe I will in the future, but if I do I want it to be done properly.
My last story was very much for all of you. I took on board your comments and wrote what I thought other people wanted to read.
This book will be different in that sense. For starters, it will be more of a slow-burn. 'Hot Chocolate' was a horny as heck, teen, friends, to friends with benefits, to lovers, where their clothes were already ripped off in chapter five.
While we're here, I think this is a perfect opportunity just to advertise so:
Go read my completed story 'Hot Chocolate' while you wait for me to finish this one! This story is going to have a better plot line too, *hopefully*.
Academic rivals meet again after years apart, then make a business deal, that leads to fake dating, to friends, to enemies, to lovers.
Or something like that.
Honestly, I have a basic idea and I'm gonna make it up as I go along. Please! Don't! Be! Mad! If! I! Go! M! I! A! On! You! Again!
I intend on posting at least once a week. I want to post this idea before I back out, but it is very rough. Emphasis on very.
But regardless, we're going to give this another go.
"It will be good for the plot" is a phrase I personally say on a daily basis when I'm about to do something completely and utterly stupid. It's a phrase I live by. If I was to write a book about my life, all these stupid little things like jumping in that river or kissing that boy are what would make the story.
Though Lowen's novel is not about jumping in rivers. Just to clarify.
Also: please note that the 'page __' are extracts of Lowen's book.
God, I need to stop rambling on in my author's notes. Let's get to it, shall we?
Lowen has been through hell and back to get to where she is now - one of the world's best upcoming music artists. But after releasing a few hit singles she knew this wasn't the way to express herself.
She had finally finished her novel. An autobiography, you may call it. Her life's story on paper.
Desperate to do this properly, she moves to the Upper East Side and finds herself one of the best publishing offices around in hopes of publishing her book.
Elijah Black had finally earned all he has worked for and was now the proud owner of Fitzgerald Publishing. He entered his office like entering a time machine, back to high school. Because there she stood. Winnie Pierce, the girl who ruined his teenager years.
An academic rival he had hoped to leave in the past had meddled her way into his present, hoping he'd help her.
It was the perfect collaboration. Two big names benefitting each other. When paparazzi caught wind of this association too soon, they discovered it's the perfect advertisement for this book.
A fake relationship to keep these two in the spotlight would boost book sales. But how long can they continue pretending to like each other?
Being forced so close together might force them to see each other past their flaws.
Or, it might lead to an overflow of hatred and sexual tension.
Or both.
Either way, it's just for the cameras, right?
