Lowen had been through hell and back to get to where she is now - one of the world's best upcoming music artists. But after releasing a few hit singles she k...

I ate dinner with Max, went to the gym, had a shower, and got changed into a grey hoodie and sweatpants. Tonight is going to test every drop of self restraint in my body. I refuse to touch her unless it's for the cameras. I don't do casual hook ups. If I do it again, I'll get addicted, and I can't risk it. Especially not with her.
Of all the women in the world, Winnie P is the one who fell into my lap. And unlike I thought before, I actually enjoy having her there. Yes, I said it. Don't quote me. She's not as bad as I made her out to be in my head.
I was just on my way out of the door when I heard Max whining. "Hey, kid. What's up? I won't be long-"
And then he threw up. He vomited all over the wooden floor. "Fuck..." I groaned, dropping my phone and keys to the side table.
"Hey, buddy." I crouched down. Poor fella. "It's okay."
I feel like an ass for not noticing he was sick. I didn't feed him anything bad, so I don't understand what the problem is. He slowly walked over to his bed, slumping down into a ball of black fur.
"Shit." I picked up my phone, going straight to my contacts.
"Hey?" She answered almost instantly. "You here?"
"Lowen- I'm sorry, Max, my dog, he's sick- I don't think I'll make it over."
"Oh, okay. It's fine, I'll sort it out another way." I could tell she sounded disappointed.
"I just don't want to leave him."
"I get it, really. It's fine."
I pressed a fist to my mouth. "Do you want to come to mine?" I asked before I got a chance to debate with myself.
"Oh, um... okay? Where's your place?"
"I'll text you an address, just give me about twenty minutes to sort things here, and we should be good."
"Okay, see you then."
"Yeah, bye." I sent her my phone's location and put my phone down again, going to the utility cabinet to get cleaning supplies.
This could've been an easy excuse. I could've avoided her for another night. But I don't want to leave anything contract-related messy. I don't want the risk of our plan going to shit, after all we put into it.
Max was snoozing by the time the place was cleaned up. I dosed the place in air freshener and looked at the clock. She should be here any minute now.
