Upon stepping out of his limousine, a crowd of reporters greeted Park Jaesang.
As his Hermes loafers marched towards the entrance, he addressed the men and women with a cheery grin. He waved to them as if a robbery had not happened in the most impenetrable building in Seoul.
"CEO Park. One question!"
"A second of your time, sajangnim!"
"Son Wendy from the Korea Herald! Sir, with the recent break-in of PSY Technologies, what are the opinions of your stakeholders?"
"No comment," Jaesang nodded toward the reporter.
"What are your thoughts on the write-up by your direct competitor?"
Jaesang lifted his hands and replied casually. "No comment."
"One more question, sir! PSY Technologies is known for its InvisiblePassLock doors used by homes and other corporate buildings. What does the breach in security say about the safety of people with your products?"
Jaesang paused on his heels before entering the revolving doors. He turned slowly and bit his tongue. He did what he had always fallen back on. Smile. "Again. No comment."
Secretary Mina intervened and guided Jaesang into the lobby. "No more questions."
Once inside the safety of the lift. Park Jaesang gritted his teeth.
.
The trio was seated inside a meeting room. Like the rest of the place, everything was a combination of chrome and matte black. The room made Seojoon and Byulyi feel indifferent, while Jungkook could not help but anxiously bounce his knee.
"Rookie. Stop it. Your knee's causing an earthquake," Seojoon said, not looking up from his phone.
"Just nervous, sir. Big case," Jungkook looked up and immediately stood when the double doors opened.
In strides of urgency and practiced calm, CEO Park Jaesang entered. On either side of him were his secretary, Mina Miyoui, and a man with Security Department on his lanyard.
"Lead Auror Park Seojoon. Thank you for your service during PSY Technologies' situation," Jaesang felt his facial muscles strain. His smile came out a little crooked.
"It's our duty to serve, sajangnim," Seojoon bowed formally and introduced the rest. "These are my colleagues. Auror Moon Byulyi and Trainee Jeon Jungkook."
"A pleasure. This is my secretary, Ms. Miyoui, and our Security Head, Mr. Tuan. They will be assisting us today. Now, time is gold. Let's all move to the Artifacts Room."
.
The Artifacts Room was constructed similarly to a bank vault. Inside was a space big enough to fit a three-story building, with towers of silver metal cabinets.
"Wow!" Jungkook whispered as he looked up.
"Wonderful, isn't it?" Jaesang pocketed his hands. "Billions of won. Nine protection spells. All in one night. Poof! Follow me, yeolobun."
They approached an open drawer. There was a red cushion inside where the missing item had previously been kept.
Seojoon leaned forward and frowned. "What was stolen?"
"A jade stone from the Unified Silla dynasty," Jaesang's lips formed a thin line. "The stone was an artifact found in the Saharan desert and was being researched by one of our archeologists, Professor Moon Minhyuk."
