Six months away from home. Byulyi felt uneasiness in the pit of her stomach. Thoughts whirled in her mind as she rolled her carry-on to the street corner. Will her mentee be difficult or easy to handle? What was the crime landscape of Seoul?

As she neared a spot at a park where very few people walk by at night, Byulyi looked left and right before disappearing to her pre-departure area.

.

A few strides beyond Whitehall stood the Admiralty Arch. It was once a memorial for Queen Victoria and only recently was developed into a luxury hotel. While the guests slept well, men and women appeared in front of the curved building.

"Moon!" Namjoon jogged towards her with an army green duffle bag over his shoulder.

"Kim. Glad to see you're early," Byulyi teased.

"I'm always on time."

"Oh. Here. The girls and I wanted to give you something. Sort of a bon voyage present," Byulyi handed Namjoon a gift bag. Inside was a jar of kimchi, a few circles of homemade dalgona, and a packet of wet wipes that had cute animal prints.

"And I didn't prepare anything. I'll make it up to you when I get back. All the strawberry shortcakes from your favorite patisserie shop, okay?"

"Looking forward to it."

As partners and acquaintances conversed, their attention was brought to a ring of a bell from a man clad in the hotel's concierge uniform. He gave a polite nod and was followed by a tall foreboding man.

London's Head Auror, Ryu Seungryong walked in a gait that commanded respect. With the additional scars that ran up his arms from years in the field and eyes that have seen too much of the world, Aurors from all levels knew not to question the man's magical prowess or unmatched wit.

He stopped in the middle of the archway and gave a small smile. His eyes showed his pride in his subordinates.

"Good evening. For more than five years the International Exchange Program has brought us together through a good cause. Train the next generation of magical law enforcement and exchange knowledge and skills between the wizarding community. It envisions a stronger defense from those who wish to terrorize the peace of both magical and non-magical folk," Head Auror Seungryong paused and looked over the crowd. "Now, you are not merely ambassadors of the British Ministry of Magic. Your time with your mentees will see you all transformed through teaching and camaraderie. The experience will mold you not only into efficient Lead Aurors but well-rounded witches and wizards."

After his speech, Seungryong stepped back, drew out his wand, and tapped the cornerstones of the arch. The Aurors watched in amazement as the view below the arches glimmered, and a curtain of sky draped itself over. The three arches showed one sky bathed in pinkish sunrise, another a bright blue noontime, and another was a grey-purple sunset. Above the capstone and voussoir, golden serif letters flashed London's time and local temperature.

"Once your name and destination are called, kindly step unto the threshold and enter. You will be greeted by an envoy from your assigned city and shall be given an introduction. Good luck, everyone, and safe travels!" Seungryong tucked his wand away and waved his arm over his head.

Along the facade of one arch, the time and local temperature changed to Kim Namjoon, Bangkok, Thailand, 11 a.m. GMT, 33 degrees Celcius.

"Well, this is me, Moon," Namjoon's dimple deepened.

"I'll see you in six months, Lead Auror Kim," Byulyi beamed.

"Au Revoir, Lead Auror Moon," Namjoon gave a salute and walked towards the middle arch.

Moon Byulyi. Seoul, South Korea, 12 p.m. KST, 27 degrees Celcius.

The said woman nodded her head and tied her hair in a low ponytail. Byulyi was ready. She had an anti-nausea gummy in her right cheek, hands tight on the handle of her bag, and a quick heartbeat. She took a step through the curtain, and her whole body was forced forward.
