"Wah! Daebak!" the man looked at Byulyi with awe.
"Daebak?" Was that slang? Byulyi thought. Her translation charm converted standard Hangeul but was lacking in modern words.
"Daebak! Brilliant. Amazing. Wow!"
A small smile tugged at Byulyi's lips. Her ability to see threads of magic wasn't fake (take that, Minhyuk!), and at that moment, it had even saved a life.
"Thank you, er-?" Byulyi turned to ask for the man's name but was surprised when he grabbed her hands.
"Do you have runes or symbols on your hands?"
The man searched for marks on her palms and the back of her hands. He even got close and looked in between her fingers.
"What are you doing?" Byulyi said, irritated.
"Maybe a tattoo? I have one. Why don't you? Hm."
"I would highly appreciate it if you could please return my hands- immediately."
"You have tiny hands, don't you? Lookie!" the man giggled and brought his hand up to mirror Byulyi's. "Your fingers hardly even reach mine!"
Byulyi pulled away harshly. She didn't appreciate the sudden physical contact and teasing. Her hands were not that small, were they?
"Sir, I am not-"
"Jin," the man beamed at her.
"Pardon?"
"My name. Kim Seokjin. Jin for short. You can also call me-"
"Thief!"
A ferocious man wearing traditional armor pointed at them. He drew out his sword and took quick strides forward with his eyes locked on Jin.
"Shit! I forgot to close the door!" Jin quickly stood, took a bronze pot, and placed it over his head as a disguise. "See you around!"
"What a peculiar man," Byulyi got up on her feet and caught herself leaning against the stall. She watched as both men disappeared from the crowd.
"Byulyi-ssi! I caught one!" Jungkook limped his way towards his mentor, holding one of the Black Tiger syndicates by the scruff of his neck. The man struggled to undo his binds, but Jungkook quickly tied another one just in case.
"Good work, Mr. Jeon. Unfortunately, two of them escaped, but this gentleman here could help us track them down."
"You won't get shit from me!" the man snapped.
"ROOKIES!" a blaring sound rang from their badge. Two wands crossed by the Korean symbols formed a scowl. From it, Lead Auror Park Seojoon shouted his orders. "THE STATION! NOW!"
.
"What do you guys think? Mop the floors without magic?" Ken said, his cheek resting on his hand. "That's what I got when I was a rookie."
"Maybe, or make everyone coffee for an entire week?" Baro added. He leaned back and propped up a file folder on his lap.
"What's wrong with the coffee I make?!" Heeyeon retorted, not taking her eyes away from the report she was making.
The three Aurors waited as Byulyi and Jungkook were inside Lead Auror Seojoon's office. From their view of the opaque door, they could see that both of them sat stiffly.
